Giants | Tim Hudson loses final start

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 18:19:49 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (8-9) allowed three runs on three hits over 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday, Oct. 1, with two walks and one strikeout.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has announced that he is retiring at the end of the regular season and manager Bruce Bochy said he expected the outing to be short because he has been bothered by a tender left hip. He can be dropped in all fantasy formats.

Giants | Tim Hudson to take turn Sunday

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 20:11:26 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (hip) will take his regularly scheduled turn in the rotation Sunday, Sept. 20, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is a decent mid-level FantasyScore play against the Snakes, especially since he is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in four appearances (two starts) over 12 2/3 innings with the opposition hitting just .205 against him. He has responded well to his spot starter duty and is having his finest month of the season by far.

Giants | Tim Hudson nearing the end

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 09:06:47 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson said that he plans to retire at the end of this season after he threw six innings in a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday, Sept. 8. "I feel like it's the right thing to do, the right time for my family," Hudson said of retirement. "I played this game a lot longer than I thought I would and had a long career. Nights like tonight are very gratifying to go out there in this stage in my career to give my team a chance to win." After his impressive start, manager Bruce Bochy said Hudson will rejoin the rotation and replace SP Ryan Vogelsong, who worked in relief Monday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: The grizzled veteran put on quite the performance last night against the D-backs, even adding a home run. Despite a return to the rotation, Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) shouldn't be very attractive to owners in fantasy leagues with the season winding down. His performance last night is probably the best we'll see out of him for the rest of his final season.

Giants | Tim Hudson gets nod for Tuesday

Mon, 07 Sep 2015 18:56:12 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson will make the start Tuesday, Sept. 8, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) might be pitching with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder after being bumped from the rotation. He is facing a team struggling at home, so he could be a solid play.

Giants | Tim Hudson returns from DL

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 15:48:15 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Fantasy Tip: The plan is for Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) to pitch out of the bullpen primarily down the stretch, but he is expected to make at least one more start before the season is over. His fantasy value is at an all-time low, and he isn't worth a roster spot in the majority of seasonal leagues. Check back for an update on whether Hudson will grab another start before the end of the season.

Giants | Tim Hudson to work in bullpen

Mon, 31 Aug 2015 18:46:30 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) was informed Monday, Aug. 31, that he will work out of the bullpen in a relief role, and will also see at least one start, in the final month of the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will want to avoid Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) until he returns to a starting role and also faces a very favorable matchup. Until then he is useless in a relief role.

Giants | Tim Hudson expected back Sept. 1

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 18:43:54 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) is expected back September 1, and it is possible he might return sooner if the team wants to skip SP Matt Cain in the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: Give Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) a start or two to knock off the rust before trusting him in FantasyScore again.

Giants | Tim Hudson starting rehab Friday

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 11:30:39 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) is tentatively scheduled to throw a few innings in his first rehab start with Class AAA Sacramento Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) could take the rotation spot of Ryan Vogelsong when he's ready to return, but the Giants have other options, too, so Hudson could pitch in the bullpen. If he's back in the rotation when he's off the DL, he'll only be useful in deep mixed leagues and at FantasyScore as a sleeper matchup play at home.

Giants | Tim Hudson works in bullpen

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 18:23:25 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) was able to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) might return to the rotation, or he could work out of the bullpen. The final decision has not yet been determined. However, if he works in relief he obviously has no value in FantasyScore, and little to those in NL-only standard formats.

Giants | Tim Hudson could pitch out of bullpen

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 16:03:46 -0700

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson (shoulder) is eligible to return from the disabled list Tuesday, Aug. 11, and manager Bruce Bochy said that is when he will decide whether Hudson returns to the rotation or pitches out of the bullpen.

Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has been a weak fantasy option for most of the season, and if he ends up in the bullpen, he will have no value at FantasyScore.
