Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez allowed four hits and matched a career high with 14 strikeouts over seven scoreless frames to defeat the New York Mets on Sunday, June 5. Fernandez also won his eighth consecutive start, tying Chris Hammond's team record set in the franchise's first season in 1993.
Fantasy Tip: Fernandez has been lights-out since his last loss on April 23, allowing one run or less in each of his last six turns and no more than three in any outing during his winning streak. The 23-year-old has punched out nine in five of his last six and fanned 11 four times over that same span. Owners are probably going to want to stick with him next weekend in Arizona when the Marlins visit the Diamondbacks.
