Free-agent SP Jon Garland (Dodgers) has not yet finalized a minor-league deal with the Cleveland Indians, and a physical is not expected to take place Monday, Feb. 20. The team and veteran pitcher are still working through the details.

A source claims that the Minnesota Twins are not optimistic about bringing back free-agent OF/DH Jason Kubel (Twins) unless his asking price comes down. The team is reportedly focused on looking to add at least one free-agent starting pitcher from a group that could include Jeff Francis (Royals), Joel Pineiro (Angels) and Jon Garland (Dodgers), if he can prove that he is healthy.

The Colorado Rockies considered free-agent SP Jon Garland (elbow), but took a pass on him based on his injury. Garland has been playing catch and long toss in California. He could audition for teams by throwing bullpens in January.
