Mon, 25 Jun 2012 20:25:11 -0700 The Kansas City Royals might consider SP Doug Davis for a rotation spot. He was selected Monday, June 25, as the Pacific Coast League pitcher of the week after allowing just one run in 12 innings in two wins for Triple-A Omaha. He is 3-1 with a 3.08 ERA in seven games since signing a minor-league contract with the Royals May 12. However, Davis might be kept at Omaha for the time being, as SP Everett Teaford is on his way up to the big club, and the team doesn't want too many finesse left-handed pitchers. They already have SP Bruce Chen, in addition to Teaford, so the promotion for Davis is unlikely right now.

SP Jonathan Sanchez will remain in the rotation for now. Odorizzi and Montgomery are on the backburner for now, but one or both could come up after the All-Star break.
