Gary Washburn, of Orioles.MLB.com, reports Baltimore Orioles SP Omar Daal (shoulder) is progressing in his rehab from surgery slower than expected. Head trainer Richie Bancells has stated that he does not expect Daal to be able to return to the team this season.

The Washington Post reports Baltimore Orioles P Omar Daal (muscle/rotator cuff) may be out until the All-Star break after having arthroscopic surgery Tuesday in Birmingham by Dr. James Andrews, who cleaned up some fraying of Daal's rotator cuff and repaired a minor labral pull.

The AP's David Ginsburg reports Baltimore Orioles SP Omar Daal (shoulder) will receive an MRI exam on his left shoulder on Wednesday, Mar. 24, after he experienced soreness in the back of his left shoulder while throwing Tuesday. The exam will determine the extent of the damage and if surgery will be needed. "I am really worried," said Daal.

Updating previous reports, Gary Washburn, of Orioles.MLB.com, reports Baltimore Orioles SP Omar Daal (shoulder) will throw a simulated game August 27 in Oakland and then make one rehabilitation start September 1 before returning to the active roster. Orioles manager Mike Hargrove said Daal could make some spot starts or perhaps become part of a six-man rotation in September.
