The New York Mets have made SP Bartolo Colon available in trade talks, although there did not seem to be much of a scouting presence at Safeco Field in Seattle for his most recent start Wednesday, July 23.
Fantasy Tip: If Colon could replicate his results from Wednesday, teams would be lining up for his services, as he retired the first 20 batters he faced. His fantasy value might take a little bit of a jump if he moves to a contender, but for now he is a back-end rotation option for fantasy owners in most formats.

New York Mets SPs Bartolo Colon, Dillon Gee and Zack Wheeler will pitch against the San Diego Padres in next weekend's series, which begins Friday, July 18. Manager Terry Collins has not determined the rest of the rotation, but said SP Jacob deGrom will remain in the starting rotation.
Fantasy Tip: Jon Niese's health will influence the backend of the rotation going forward. However, it appears Daisuke Matsuzaka will lose his spot when Niese returns. deGrom's value stabilizes, and he is emerging as a viable option in mixed leagues.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon has been made available in a trade by his team as the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline approaches, according to industry sources. Colon is 8-8 with a 3.99 ERA in 18 starts at the break. The team isn't believed to be in serious trade talks yet, though, and it isn't a foregone conclusion that Colon will be traded.
