Oakland Athletics P Shawn Chacon's grievance against the Houston Astros was denied Tuesday, Aug. 17, according to The Associated Press. The players association filed the grievance after his contract was terminated two years ago, saying the decision was without just cause. Chacon assaulted general manager Ed Wade in June of 2008.

"We can't have anarchy," McLane said. "You can't have rebellion. If he disagreed with what Cecil wanted him to do, he should have had the courage to sit down and talk to him."
