Free-agent SP A.J. Burnett (Phillies) says that he is not ready to retire despite declining his $12.75 million player option with the Philadelphia Phillies. Darek Braunecker, Burnett's agent, said Burnett "wants to pitch for a contender" next year. He could have made up to $14.5 million with the Phillies in 2015 if he had started at least 30 games. Burnett went 8-18 with a 4.59 ERA and led the National League in losses and gave up the most earned runs and walks of any starter.
