Bill Chastain, of MLB.com, reports the Tampa Bay Rays have named former P Brian J. Anderson as the team's assistant to pitching coach Jim Hickey. Anderson tried to comeback this season after suffering a major injury during the 2005 season, but suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament and flexor mass muscle during a spring training game.

Jack Etkin, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports the Colorado Rockies are not interested in signing free-agent RP Brian J. Anderson (Rangers) after watching him throw for team scouts and trainers. The Rockies told Anderson that he would not likely break spring training camp with the Rockies if he signed a contract with the team, and could start in their extended spring training program.

The Associated Press reports Texas Rangers P Brian J. Anderson (elbow) has re-torn an elbow ligament that was thought to have been repaired with surgery last July. An MRI on Tuesday, June 6, revealed the tear. Anderson will have to decide if he wants to have additional surgery.
