Nationals | Jayson Werth not likely for Thursday

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 04:34:56 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (hamstring) was lifted from his team's game as a precaution Wednesday, April 20, after his left hamstring tightened. Manager Dusty Baker plans to rest Werth on Thursday, April 21.

Fantasy Tip: Werth says he is all right, but hamstrings can be funny. Keep an eye on his situation moving forward. It doesn't look too serious, but daily owners can adjust their teams on the fly. Owners in regular leagues shouldn't have to worry too much either.

Tue, 15 Mar 2016 12:51:09 -0700

Washington Nationals SS Danny Espinosa is 0-for-17 with eight strikeouts this spring, and manager Dusty Baker told media the team is trying to help him figure it out.

Fantasy Tip: Espinosa is still the go-to guy, but you have to wonder how much more patience the Nationals have before Trea Turner takes the reins in the nation's capital.

Reds | Dusty Baker feeling healthy

Tue, 12 Feb 2013 18:56:46 -0800

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker has put his health issues behind him. He suffered a minor stroke and irregular heartbeat in September. He lost 20 pounds during the 11 days he was absent from the team, and he has kept the weight off. "I'm just watching what I eat," Baker said Tuesday, Feb. 12. "I can eat what I want, but eat less of it. No salt, which I've been on a long time. (I've had) minimal alcohol intake. It was easy this winter, but we hadn't lost a couple of games. I have to make sure I get my rest, work out, enjoy life and try not to stress out."
