Dodgers | Don Mattingly's coaching staff yet to be determined

Dodgers | DeWitt's role on team undetermined

Sat, 21 Feb 2009 09:21:17 -0800

With the Los Angeles Dodgers' signing of 2B Orlando Hudson, the role of IF Blake DeWitt on the team is undetermined, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times. Third base coach Larry Bowa will work with DeWitt on playing third base and shortstop, a position he hasn't played since high school. Manager Joe Torre said that IF Tony Abreu is probably a better fit for a utility infielder role than DeWitt, so he may end up being optioned to the minors where he could play every day.
