You never know how long you're going to stay on that surfboard before someone knocks you off. So you just ride it and go from there," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.

Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan or assistant general manager Rob Antony will provide injury updates this season instead of manager Ron Gardenhire, per a new team policy this season. Last year, head trainer Rick McWane gave daily injury updates before regular season games. "There are a few reasons (for the change), but No. 1, that's the way I've always done it," Ryan said. "Two, I'd just as soon have Gardy manage the ballclub and not worry about giving his medical (report) every day. Three, Rob and I will be on almost every trip and certainly at home we'll do it. Four, I don't want any confusion in communication description and that's the reasons."
