Fri, 08 Feb 2008 02:43:25 -0500 Paul Hoynes, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports former Cleveland Indians player and manager Mike Hargrove and player Joe Gordon will be inducted into the Indians Hall of Fame in August at Progressive (Jacobs) Field. Hargrove played first base for the Indians for six years from 1979 through 1985. As manager, Hargrove went 721-591, winning five division titles and reaching the 1995 and 1997 World Series as the American League Championship Series champion. Gordon, who died in 1978, was a nine-time All-Star second baseman and an AL MVP in 1942.

Hargrove was in the final year of a three-year deal with the club when he announced his resignation from the managerial position Sunday, July 1. Hargrove plans on spending quality time with his family after being involved in baseball as a manager, coach or player since 1972.

Currently, Johjima is not among the top eight vote receivers at his position. "He's a good player having an All-Star season," Hargrove said. So far this season, Johjima has hit .303 with seven home runs and 22 RBI.
