Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox earned his 2,500th career victory against the Washington Nationals Saturday, Sept. 25, according to The Associated Press. He became the fourth major league manager to reach the milestone.

Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox was suspended one game Monday, July 19, for the intentional actions of RP Jonny Venters Saturday, July 17, according to The Sports Network. Cox is scheduled to serve his suspension Tuesday, July 20.

Sports' Gordon Edes reports Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox and general manager Frank Wren had a falling out in spring training that led Cox to the point that he packed his bag and climbed into his car to drive home from spring training until talked out of it by one of his coaches. Cox was unhappy with the way the team handled the departures of SP John Smoltz and SP Tom Glavine, according to a source.
