Updating ongoing reports, ClevelandBrowns.com reports free agent LB Jamir Miller (Browns) has announced his plan to retire from the NFL. Miller suffered a season-ending Achilles’ injury last season.

Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports a doctor has advised free agent LB Jamir Miller (Browns) to call it quits as a result of his Achilles’ tendon injury. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Miller will announce his retirement as early as Tuesday, according to a source.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports the Cleveland Browns have withdrawn their offer to free agent LB Jamir Miller and told Miller’s agent, Leigh Steinberg, that they’d be going in a different direction. The Browns were looking to utilize Miller as a situational pass rusher, while Miller is looking to be an every-down player.

Associated Press reports free agent LB Jamir Miller’s agent, Leigh Steinberg, is still hopeful that Miller will re-sign with the Cleveland Browns, who appear to be the only team interested in him. Steinberg added that they will explore other options if they cannot work out a deal with Cleveland. Steinberg also said retirement talk is premature and Miller plans to play this year. They plan to talk with the Browns again this week to try to hammer out a deal.

Updating previous reports, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports free agent LB Jamir Miller (Browns) is pondering retirement, Cleveland Browns president Carmen Policy said Monday. Apparently, Miller’s decision would be financially driven and not related to his injury situation.

Updating previous reports, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports free agent LB Jamir Miller (Browns) will serve as a part-time player if he decides to re-sign with the Cleveland Browns. Head coach Butch Davis would plan on using him primarily as a pass-rushing defensive end on third downs.

Updating previous reports, the Akron Beacon Journal reports Cleveland Browns president Carmen Policy is growing increasingly frustrated by the indecision of free agent LB Jamir Miller (Browns). Policy said the team isn’t likely to increase its offer to Miller, and his indecision could cause them to reduce their proposal. “I think what we’re going to do is put the Jamir Miller matter on hold,” Policy said. “If Jamir’s not of a mind that this is a situation that has to get done, we’re willing to honor that attitude.”
