ClevelandBrowns.com reports Cleveland Browns MLB Wali Rainer (ankle) missed Friday’s practice and will not play in Sunday’s game because he has not been able to practice and is too sore. Brant Boyer will replace Rainer in the starting lineup. LB Lenoy Jones, who was recently activated off the PUP list, will also get some playing time at MLB.

The Associated Press reports the Cleveland Browns, as expected, have placed DE Keith McKenzie (ankle) on injured reserve. They activated LB Lenoy Jones from the PUP list to the active roster. Jones probably will assume some of LB Brant Boyer's roles on special teams. Boyer will start at middle linebacker in place of the injured Wali Rainer (ankle).

ClevelandBrowns.com reports Cleveland Browns LB Lenoy Jones (knee surgery) is still on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but is making progress. Jones has returned to practice in full pads and hasn’t had any type of reaction or swelling. The Browns still have another week to decide if Jones is physically able to make any kind of contribution to the team. Head coach Butch Davis said that if he’s healthy, Jones could join the active roster when the team places DE Keith McKenzie on injured reserve.

The team's official site reports the Cleveland Browns released LB Marty Moore, DB Brandon Davis, WR Zola Davis, C Doug Rosfeld and LB Michael Smith. As expected, the Browns placed rookie DB Michael Jameson and DB Lewis Sanders on the reserved-injured list and they will be out for the season. LB Lenoy Jones was put on the PUP list meaning he could play later this year.
