The Plain Dealer reports Cleveland Browns LB Brant Boyer (toe) has been missing practice time with a sprained toe suffered on the first day of rookie camp. "I rushed the passer and I planted on the outside of my foot and it rolled over on my toe," he said. "I inflamed that joint. It's getting better every day."

Jeff Walcoff, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports Cleveland Browns LB Brant Boyer is excited about head coach Romeo Crennel's 3-4 defensive scheme because it allows him the flexibility to play four different linebacker spots. "The more you can do the more value you have as a team member," Boyer said. "I want to make them have a hell of a time cutting me by what I do on special teams and my versatility playing all the linebacker positions." Boyer missed all of 2004 with a broken foot.
