The Arizona Republic reports QB Chris Greisen has not locked up a roster spot with the Arizona Cardinals just yet. Greisen hasn't played well this pre-season and he is being pushed by rookie QBs Josh McCown and Preston Parsons for a job. The three backups will get plenty of work against the Raiders this week. "Those guys are all going to get a chance in this game," coach Dave McGinnis said. "Jake is our quarterback, and hopefully, he's our quarterback for a long time. But I want to see some of these other guys, what they can do."

Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports QBs coach Geep Chryst said the team needs to find out about backup QB Chris Greisen this year. With veteran Dave Brown not returning to the team, Greisen is stepping into the No. 2 QB role for the team. Chryst said Greisen needs to exert his personality and earn the spot this year. The team knew what they had in Brown because he was a former starter, they don't know what Greisen brings to the table as of yet.

The AP reports the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Chicago Bears 24-20 earlier tonight. Rookie RB Marcel Shipp's 2-yard TD run with one minute left was the winning score. QB Chris Greisen hit Tywan Mitchell on a 45-yard, fourth-down pass to setup the winning TD. RB Skip Hicks had a 17-yard TD run in the third quarter to give the Bears a 17-14 lead. Cardinals CB Tom Knight ran an interception back 49 yards for the team's first TD. RB Michael Pittman's 2-yard TD run that made it 14-0 for Arizona. Rookie PK Bill Gramatica's 36-yard FG completed the scoring for the Cards. Bears PK Paul Edinger had 36- and 38-yard FGs for the Bears after he missed twice in the first half. QB Jim Miller hit 13-of-18 passes for 99 yards in the second and third periods. QB Jake Plummer completed 10-of-17 for 85 yards for the Cards.

The Arizona Republic reports the turnout at the Arizona Cardinals voluntary off-season workouts is good, and most of the team's key offensive players have been there. "We have a lot of guys out there - and some guys who are going to wish they were out there," coach Dave McGinnis said. WR Mar Tay Jenkins is getting a lot of attention from WRs coach Jerry Sullivan. The team needs him to step up and he could even be the No. 3 WR if a move needed to be made with either Franks Sanders or Rob Moore because of the salary cap situation. QBs Jake Plummer, Dave Brown and Chris Greisen have been attending regularly. The Cardinals had an interest in DL Jeremy Staat who signed with Seattle on Tuesday, but McGinnis said although he liked Staat's 6-foot-6, 310-pound size, but the Cardinals did not immediately offer a contract because of concern over a shoulder on which Staat had off-season surgery.

The contracts signed yesterday by four of their exclusive rights free agents, WR Bryan Gilmore, QB Sean Keenan, CB Jordan Younger and RB Clarence Williams, were all one-year, $303,000 deals. As an update to a previous report, the team officially announced the re-signing of long snapper Trey Junkin. The key offensive players begin working with the new offensive coaches shortly.
