QB Akili Smith (shoulder) is questionable as well. DE Kevin Henry (hamstring) is probable after missing last night's game. WR Chad Plummer injured his right hip last night. He will be probable if he passed an MRI late Saturday night. S Tremain Mack (shoulder) had a stinger, but returned to the game. He is probable for Thursday as is LG Matt O'Dwyer (rib strain).
Tue, 10 Jul 2001 10:22:02 -0700 The Cincinnati Post reports if WR Chad Plummer is going to make the Cincinnati Bengals roster, he will have to do it the old fashion way and earn it. Plummer is not eligible for the practice squad and he is one of seven receivers battling for the last three receiver spots available on the roster. Plummer has been in and out of the weight room for the last 5 months lifting weights and running and he says he’s in the best shape of his life.

Plummer currently leads the race -- ahead of Ron Dugans and Danny Farmer -- for the Bengals No. 5 WR slot. Plummer also carries extra value because he's able to play on all the Bengals' special team units.

Cincinnati has a lot of depth at the wide receiver position, so the likes of Danny Farmer, Ron Dugans, Craig Yeast, Damon Griffin, LaVell Boyd and Chad Plummer will all be battling during roster spots. The Bengals will likely work WRs Peter Warrick, Darnay Scott and rookies Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh into the pre-season games early this year.

QBs Jon Kitna, Akili Smith and Scott Covington worked on pass routes with WRs Peter Warrick, Ron Dugans, Craig Yeast, Danny Farmer, LaVell Boyd and Chad Plummer. QBs coach Ken Anderson and WRs coach Steve Mooshagian supervised yesterday's workout. Starting May 1, the team will begin the process of installing the new bluegrass playing field at Paul Brown Stadium. In other news, the Bengals will play pre-season games at Chicago and Detroit and at home against Buffalo and Indianapolis. Times and dates will soon be announced.
Mon, 02 Apr 2001 21:23:55 -0700 Geoff Hobson reports for the team's official site, Cincinnati Bengals QB Jon Kitna began working out with the team on Monday. Kitna liked what he saw on his first day of the Bengals voluntary off-season workout program. Kitna and Scott Covington threw passes to WRs Peter Warrick, Ron Dugans, LaVell Boyd and Chad Plummer. Akili Smith was not there Monday so Kitna got plenty of reps. Kitna also did some bonding with RB Corey Dillon. Kitna will spend the month of May in Cincinnati for the mandatory May 4-7 mini-camp and for four veteran voluntary camps. Dillon is not working out with the team, but the team is happy he is present.
