Bengals | Looking For A No. 3? |
Tue, 10 Apr 2001 21:11:03 -0700
Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com the Cincinnati Bengals would like to find a big, speedy outside receiver to play opposite Darnay Scott on the outside and Peter Warrick in the slot. They still have Ron Dugans, Danny Farmer, as well as third-year man Craig Yeast, but it's unclear if any of them can step up to be the No. 3 WR. They went after James McKnight via free agency and failed. Angelo Wright, WR Sean Dawkins’ agent, said the Bengals made a preliminary inquiry this week about the former Seahawks WR. He's not a speed demon, but he could be the veteran possession receiver the Bengals didn’t have last year. The Bengals could also use the NFL Draft to find their No. 3 WR, possibly in the second round.

Agent Mark Bartelstein, representing OLG Matt O'Dwyer said he and the team have had "conceptual" talks about his client. The agent said O'Dwyer would like to come back to the Bengals.
