The Star-Telegram reports Dallas Cowboys coach Dave Campo had a conversation with rookie WR Antonio Bryant about Bryant's role in the offense. The two talked for about 30 minutes after practice on Monday. Bryant's season-long complaints about not being a big part of the offense and his frustrations over splitting time with veteran WR Darnay Scott have drawn the ire of offensive coordinator Bruce Coslet. "Antonio has a chance to be an outstanding receiver in this league," Campo said. "In some ways he is a little impatient. I like his impatience. But he can't let his impatience hurt him. There are things he thinks he can do to help the team. Sometimes he doesn't have that opportunity."

Updating an earlier story, the Dallas Morning News reports the Dallas Cowboys are expected so sign free agent WR Darnay Scott (Jags) next Monday. The Cowboys will wait until Monday to sign Scott to a deal for the minimum salary for a nine-year veteran of $650,000 to ensure salary-cap flexibility.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com free agent WR Darnay Scott (Jaguars) visited with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday. He worked out and had a physical and he figures to get a minimum deal offer soon. Offensive coordinator Bruce Coslet said they aren’t concerned about the leg he broke two years ago, but they wanted to check the shoulder he hurt in Jacksonville before the Jaguars cut him this week. "I know he can still run down field and although he hasn’t been in the offense for the last two years, I think he’ll be able to pick it up again,” Coslet said.

Bart Hubbuch reports for the Florida Times-Union Jacksonville Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin said the team cut WR Darnay Scott because of his chronic shoulder issue. The injury did not allow the coach to get a good look at Scott during the pre-season.
