Fri, 19 Jul 2002 15:07:03 -0700

Chick Ludwig, of the Dayton Daily News, reports for the Sporting News, the Cincinnati Bengals have plenty of quantity at the tight end position, but are questionable on the quality. TEs Sean Brewer, Chris Edmunds, Kirk McMullen, and rookie Matt Schobel will be competing for the No. 1 roster spot during training camp. Brewer is described as a good blocker, who is injury prone. Edmunds, a converted linebacker, is big, fast, but raw as a blocker. He will likely be a candidate for the practice squad. Schobel has soft hands, runs a smooth route, though he needs to be able to block.
