The Cincinnati Enquirer reports free agent S JoJuan Armour (Bengals) said he has attracted interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Armour has not played in the NFL since the Cincinnati Bengals terminated his contract in Aug. 2003.

Bengals | Roman Could Start

Chick Ludwig, of the Dayton Daily News, reports for The Sporting News that Cincinnati Bengals FS Mark Roman has increased his strength. Roman could oust JoJuan Armour out of the starting position, if he can maintain his speed.

Bengals.com reports the Cincinnati Bengals have named S JoJuan Armour their new starting strong safety, if he is healthy. Armour (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, but he is expected to go in a limited way for Thursday's practice before going full out Friday.

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals will kick off the start of battles at their safety positions during their upcoming minicamp. At free safety, Lamont Thompson, Marquand Manuel, Darryl Williams and Mark Roman are expected to battle. Former starting free safety Cory Hall moves over to battle with JoJuan Armour at strong safety.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals restricted free agent safeties Cory Hall and JoJuan Armour and FB/TE Nick Williams have all agreed to sign their one-year, $563,000 tender offers. They are in the process of sending the signed paperwork back to the team.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com the Cincinnati Bengals tendered restricted free agent SS JoJuan Armour a one-year, $563,000 contract. Armour, a starter last season, has been talking to the club about a multi-year extension. He turned down one proposal and agent Michael Sullivan said Friday he is readying a counter offer.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com the team had a rough day at practice earlier today. Reserve WR Danny Farmer (sprained ankle) is now doubtful for Sunday's game. Starting SS JoJuan Armour sprained his left ankle and he is probable. TE/long snapper Brad St. Louis re-aggravated his left groin and he is now questionable for Sunday. Trainer Paul Sparling said St. Louis would undergo "a precautionary MRI." TE Kirk McMullen may take his place if he is out. Another option if St. Louis can't go is long snapper Randy Chevrier, signed to the practice squad Tuesday.

According to the Cincinnati Post, Cincinnati Bengals RB Corey Dillon (knee) and TE Tony McGee (knee) didn't practice Wednesday and both could be held out this morning as well. Those two along with S JoJuan Armour (ankle) and WRs Chad Johnson (collarbone) and Peter Warrick (thigh/quadriceps) are listed as probable for Sunday.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com S Tremain Mack had to start tonight's pre-season game at free safety because starter Chris Carter couldn't start because of a sore hamstring. Mack hurt his shoulder on the kickoff before the first defensive series and was replaced by JoJuan Armour because his return was questionable. Carter eventually had to play too. DB Corey Hall got thrown out of the game with Bills LB Fred Jones after an altercation midway through the second quarter.

Bengals.com reports Cincinnati Bengals S JoJuan Armour is going to get a chance to develop at strong safety in NFL Europe. Through two years with the Bengals, he has yet to be put at one definite position in the secondary. The Barcelona Dragons also plan to let him rush the passer at times. The Bengals plan to watch his growth in the league closely to see where he may fit in with them later this year. Armour thinks he can play either safety or linebacker.

According to the Dayton Daily News, the Cincinnati Bengals have allocated LB JoJuan Armour, S Gary Thompkins, TE/LS Kirk McMullen, FB Ricky Brown and DT Keith Jackson to the NFL Europe league. The sixth allocated player, OG Roger Roesler, has decided not to go and will have to be replaced.
