The Denver Broncos added S Quinton Carter in the fourth round with the 108th pick overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He said Saturday, April 30, that he was surprised since the team already added FS Rahim Moore in the second round. "Honestly, I was surprised," Carter said. "I'm excited to learn from FS Brian Dawkins. He's my favorite safety in the NFL to watch." Carter and Moore are seen as eventual replacements for Dawkins, who is 37 years old, and Renaldo Hill, who is 32.

The Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos' starting secondary features all four players 30 years of age or older. CBs Champ Bailey and Andre' Goodman are both 31 , respectively, while FS Brian Dawkins is 35 and FS Renaldo Hill is 30. "On paper we look pretty good," Goodman said. "We also look old, I've heard that. At the end of the day, this is a production business and I think with the veterans you have back there and Champ being the great player he is and Brian being the great player he is, me and Renaldo are going to come in and try to match that.

Updating previous reports, Craig Barnes, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins S Renaldo Hill (knee) said he can pretty much do whatever the team wants him to. He seems to be on track for a full return for the start of training camp. Hill is confident the knee will be 100 percent by the time camp opens.

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the longer Miami Dolphins S Jason Allen remains out of training camp, the greater the odds he might not immediately contend for a starting spot, as the Dolphins expected when making him a first-round pick in last April's NFL Draft. Three days into camp practices, the Dolphins seemed entrenched in their demand that Allen sign a six-year contract. Agent Mitch Frankel is adamant about a five-year deal so Allen could potentially become an unrestricted free agent one season earlier. Three Dolphins safeties, Travares Tillman and Renaldo Hill and backup Yeremiah Bell, said Monday, July 31, that they would try to help Allen get up to speed when he finally agrees to a contract.

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins S Renaldo Hill (ankle) was unable to practice Sunday morning, June 11. He suffered a sprained ankle Saturday, June 10. Hill was able to walk without crutches. He watched practice from the sideline.
