Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he is not sure if QB Jon Kitna (back) or FB Tony Fiammetta (illness) will be able to play again this season. The team has still not been able to determine the origin of Fiammetta's illness but he has been experiencing nausea when he has tried to practice. Kitna's back has not been responding to treatment.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (rib) has a rib fracture, which he suffered during Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. He will not return to the team's Week 2 game, and his status for Week 3 is uncertain at this point. QB Jon Kitna has replaced him in the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Definitely not a good start for Romo, who missed a significant amount of time last season due to injury. Kitna would start should Romo continue to miss time, which slightly decreases the fantasy potential of the Dallas offense. If you do not have a capable backup to depend upon, Kitna is worth picking up to cover your bases while Romo's short- and long-term availability is uncertain.

"I loved playing with Kitna," Bennett said. "Kitna is one of my favorite people to play with. Just being out there on the field with that guy just makes you play even harder. He made some things happen in limited time, so I think if he got a longer chance, he'd be able to do more." The team's coaches have no plans to have a quarterback competition.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said he hopes the team is able to adjust to QB Jon Kitna's snap count and tries to keep the false starts to a minimum, reports The Dallas Morning News' Todd Archer. "Now his snap count is different, which bothers me a little bit in that we had some troubles with false starts and those kinds of things," Phillips said. "We had a couple in the ballgame ... We've worked hard on that and tried to concentrate on that. We certainly don't want penalties but with a new quarterback and a different count, those are the kinds of things everybody has got to concentrate on and focus more."
