Jacksonville Jaguars PK Josh Scobee (groin) suffered a groin injury before the team's Week 14 game and was pulled from the game late in the fourth quarter. The team has not made a move to bring in another kicker, but they may do so before the end of the week. P Nick Harris is not a candidate to handle kickoff duties.

Cincinnati Bengals P Kyle Richardson had his second straight poor game Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona's first two scores were set up by short Richardson kicks ­ 35 and 37 yards, respectively. Arizona's average drive start was its own 36-yard line, compared to Cincinnati's average drive start at its own 22. Richardson was signed Oct. 7 to replace P Nick Harris. Richardson was very good in his first Bengals game, Oct. 19 against the Baltimore Ravens, but has struggled since.

Updating previous reports, Kevin Goheen, of the Cincinnati Post, reports Cincinnati Bengals punters Nick Harris and Travis Dorsch are locked in a stiff competition to be the team's starting punter. "There's a good battle going on right now and it's going to come down to who performs the most consistent," special teams coach Darrin Simmons said. Unlike last year, only one punter is expected to make the final roster.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com the Cincinnati Bengals have asked rookie P/PK Travis Dorsch to focus on his place-kicking. They have turned the punting duties over to Nick Harris, for now. Dorsch says heís "100 percent sure," heíll punt in the NFL, "but I donít know if itís going to be here or not. I can do more than one thing at once. Not this year, maybe not next, but I think I can do both. Iíve been punting better than Iíve been kicking, thatís for sure."

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com the team is sticking with PK Neil Rackers for now, despite his struggles. Special teams coach Al Roberts says the trio of Rackers, holder Nick Harris, and long-snapper Brad St. Louis are still trying to get in sync since Harris' arrival as the punter at the Aug. 30 pre-season finale. Rackers is now 3-for-7 on field-goal tries after going 12-for-21 his rookie season, but Roberts continues to think Rackers has the leg and head to make it. At the moment, the Bengals have no kickers waiting in the wings. The may get a video tape from former PK Doug Pelfrey. He's checking with all NFL teams about a job.

Broncos | Rouen Gets New Deal

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos P Tom Rouen agreed to reduce his base salary from $600,000 to the veteran minimum $477,000, a $123,000 salary cap savings for the team. "I've been playing this game a long time, and I know this was the right thing to do," Rouen said. "The money's not going to change my lifestyle. It shows that I'm a team guy, and it just puts the whole episode behind us." Rouen beat out rookie Nick Harris, now with the Bengals, to win the punting job. Harris' $276,000 signing bonus is also counting against the team's salary cap.

The Denver Post reports former Denver Broncos rookie P Nick Harris is expected to have a job as early as today, after the NFL sifts through the waiver claims that are submitted for him. At least four teams - the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams and New York Giants - expressed interest Tuesday in Harris. The 49ers would win the waiver claim if all four of those teams placed claims.

Broncos | Win 31-24 Over New Orleans

The Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos defeated the New Orleans Saints 31-24 Saturday night in the opening of Invesco Field at Mile High. RB Terrell Davis ran for 34 yards on 11 carries in his first game in nine months. Backup RBs Olandis Gary and Mike Anderson combined for 121 yards rushing. QB Brian Griese was impressive, throwing for 228 yards and three TDs in less than three quarters. Two of the TDs went to Ed McCaffrey, one a 58-yard TD. Rookie Kevin Kasper took a step backward as the Broncos punt returner as he fumbled two punts. Rookie P Nick Harris also had a difficult night in his bid to win Denver's punting job. Harris, battling veteran Tom Rouen, averaged 34 yards on three punts.

Lynn DeBruin reports for the Denver Rocky Mt. News that Denver Broncos P Tom Rouen is looking at the team's drafting of Nick Harris in the fourth-round of the draft over the weekend as nothing more than competition. However, Harris could spell the end for Rouen in Denver. Rouen has a salary-cap hit of $750,000 this year and Harris' deal will come much cheaper. Broncos special-teams coach Frank Bush stated it is competition, plain and simple.
