Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports former Green Bay Packers OL Matt O'Dwyer has filed an injury grievance against the team. O'Dwyer wants $205,000. Barring a settlement, the grievance could take more than six months to be heard. Under the collective bargaining agreement, the Packers must count 50 percent of the grievance against their salary cap.

Jeff Fedotin, of Packers.com, reports Green Bay Packers OG Will Whitticker will start Friday, Aug. 26, against the New England Patriots even though OG Matt O'Dwyer has taken many of the repetitions with the first team during the last three days. The coaching staff must determine whether to start the rookie Whitticker or the 11-year-veteran O'Dwyer at right guard.

Pete Dougherty, of PackersNews.com, reports Green Bay Packers OG Matt O'Dwyer played with the second-team offense in the Thursday, Aug. 11, preseason game against the San Diego Chargers. O'Dwyer, who has missed 24 games over the past two seasons due to chest and foot injuries, did not have a good showing, committing two penalties - a holding call and a false start. "We give you a double minus for a penalty," said Packers offensive line coach Larry Beightol. "That would mess up any player's grade. Would I like him to play better? Certainly. But he hadn't played in two years, he's rusty."
