Falcons | Calvin Ridley injured Saturday

Sat, 28 Jul 2018 09:23:28 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (leg) suffered a hamstring or knee injury during practice Saturday, July 28, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on the situation to see if Ridley will miss any time. He should serve as the No. 3 receiver to start the season and could join the starting lineup at some point in 2018. He can be a possible No. 4 receiver in most leagues but will be more valuable in keeper leagues.

Falcons | Calvin Ridley ready to contribute

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 20:45:41 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley will have the opportunity to "make an immediate impact," according to Herbie Teope of NFL.com, and Teope believes Ridley will take advantage of single coverage from opposing defenses.

Fantasy Tip: With Julio Jones drawing plenty of attention, Ridley should have a chance to break loose for some big plays. He should be selected in first round of rookie drafts, and he's worth the gamble as a WR4 in redraft formats.

Falcons | Calvin Ridley making impression

Wed, 20 Jun 2018 08:44:19 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley is already having an impact on his teammates, particularly his defensive teammates. S Ricardo Allen credited Ridley for being a disciplined route-runner and moving like a veteran. "I just want to see when he becomes a veteran how much better a player he's going to be," Allen said.

Fantasy Tip: It may take some time for Ridley to acclimate to the professional level which isn't uncommon for a rookie but he's on the right track. Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu stunt Ridley's upside, but he's a WR3 to WR4 candidate from a redraft point of view.

Falcons | Calvin Ridley getting work all over the field

Sun, 13 May 2018 11:20:16 -0700

Atlanta Falcons first-round WR Calvin Ridley lined up in the slot as well as outside during rookie minicamp Saturday, May 12. Ridley is also under consideration to return kickoffs and punts, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Fantasy Tip: Ridley is the Falcons' only unsigned draft pick, but he figures to have a fairly sizeable role in his first pro season. At the very least, Atlanta needs somebody to replace Taylor Gabriel. The slot may be a perfect place for Ridley to start out given his route-running precision and lack of size. Regardless, he should be able to steal snaps from Mohamed Sanu as the season progresses and has a shot to start over him at some point. The rookie is worth considering as a high-upside WR4 in most leagues.

Falcons | Calvin Ridley could return kickoffs and punts

Sun, 29 Apr 2018 06:58:13 -0700

The Atlanta Falcons could experiment with using WR Calvin Ridley as a kickoff returner and punt returner at the team's rookie camp, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Ridley returned just two punts for four yards at Alabama and did not return any kickoffs.

Fantasy Tip: The Falcons believe Ridley possesses the skill and explosiveness to be an effective return man despite his lack of experience in that role. He is likely to be the club's No. 3 receiver in 2018 behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, making him worthy of a late-round flier in most fantasy formats, with added value in keeper and dynasty leagues.
