Buccaneers | Ronald Jones to get heavy workload quickly?

Sun, 17 Jun 2018 11:05:34 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones could post the biggest numbers of the team's defense-heavy draft class since he should get 15 to 20 touches per game, according to Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear whether or not Stroud meant he can see Jones taking on that kind of workload right away or down the road. It has been widely assumed and reported Jones will begin his rookie season by sharing early-down touches with Peyton Barber while ceding third-down work to Charles Sims. That should still be the expectation for now, but Jones is also a solid bet to move into the role Stroud is describing later in the season. He should be drafted as a RB3 but has immense upside.

Buccaneers | Ronald Jones inks contract

Thu, 14 Jun 2018 10:56:14 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, June 14. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Jones provides the Buccaneers with an immediate threat out of the backfield, particularly in the passing game. He'll lose a decent amount of touches to Peyton Barber and Charles Sims, but Jones has RB3 appeal at worst with added value in PPR leagues.

Buccaneers | Ronald Jones to be factor in passing game

Tue, 05 Jun 2018 02:15:09 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones is being envisioned as a "three-down back" by running backs coach Tim Spencer, who added that he would want Jones "to be able to catch the ball because we have some things we'd like to give him with his speed."

Fantasy Tip: Jones will be one of this year's rookies that is put in a meaningful position for his club right out of the gate, as it's even possible he leads the Bucs' running game in touches by the end of the season. Although Peyton Barber emerged at the end of last season and did a respectable job, Jones might have the higher ceiling, making him a worthwhile FLEX pick in fantasy drafts.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones has been catching a variety of passes during rookie minicamp and will have the opportunity to play in space and line up as a receiver in head coach Dirk Koetter's offense.

Fantasy Tip: Jones is positioned to be one of the more impactful rookie backs this season. He's a potential RB3 in redraft leagues, and he is worthy of a top-five pick in rookie drafts.
