Ravens | Lamar Jackson runs the show

Sat, 16 Jun 2018 18:25:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson took all the reps during team drills Thursday, June 14, and had his best day throwing the football, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson will probably need an injury to Joe Flacco to make a significant impact in redraft leagues this year, but his Michael Vick-like skills make him a must-own option in keeper formats.

Ravens | Joe Flacco more motivated

Wed, 13 Jun 2018 10:50:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco appears to be more motivated this offseason as a result of the Ravens drafting QB Lamar Jackson and signing QB Robert Griffin III, according to FS Eric Weddle.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco needed some motivation following a lackluster 2017 campaign. The starting job is his to lose as he enters his 10th season, but both Jackson and Griffin give Baltimore options and more creativity with play calling. As it stands, Flacco is cemented in backup fantasy quarterback territory.

Ravens | Baltimore likes Lamar Jackson

Tue, 12 Jun 2018 15:25:26 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has impressed in the open field so far this offseason, but he is working to improve his accuracy, working under center and learning the playbook. Jackson has even lined up at non-quarterback positions at times, which has proven to be a challenge for the defense. LB C.J. Mosley went as far as to say that once Jackson gets outside the pockets it's like watching former NFL QB Michael Vick.

Ravens | Joe Flacco focused on the present

Thu, 24 May 2018 11:46:58 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was relatively mum regarding his opinion of the Ravens selecting QB Lamar Jackson with their first pick. "When you draft anyone in the first round, there is always a plan," Flacco said. "What that plan is? I don't know. I'm worried about right now."

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has to be a little miffed that his career-long franchise used their first-round pick on a fellow quarterback. Flacco's job is in trouble, but he was never a reliable fantasy asset anyway. He can be avoided in traditional leagues.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson's role unclear

Sat, 05 May 2018 20:11:20 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's role in the offense is a work in progress, according to head coach John Harbaugh, but Harbaugh said the staff is working on finding the best ways to put Jackson in position to make plays.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson may have a small package of plays he runs this season, but he's not taking Joe Flacco's job this year. Still, his long-term potential as a dual-threat quarterback make him worth rostering in keeper leagues and dynasty formats.

Sat, 05 May 2018 11:08:38 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has been impressive with his accuracy and smarts during the rookie minicamp, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson likely will spend his rookie season as the No. 2 quarterback for the Ravens but could start as soon as 2019. He will be a popular pick in keeper leagues but will not have a lot of value in standard leagues.

Ravens | Baltimore to take it slow with Lamar Jackson

Sun, 29 Apr 2018 14:18:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will face "no urgency" in regards of being rushed into the starting lineup, according to NFL.com's Jim Trotter.

Fantasy Tip: According to Trotter, the plan with Jackson is to start at ground zero and throw everything at him to see what he does well and what they need to focus on. It makes sense, as Joe Flacco is a serviceable quarterback. Whenever Jackson becomes the starter - most likely 2019 - he should be considered a potential QB1 in fantasy given his incredible ability as a runner. As for 2018, he may possess more fantasy upside than any other backup quarterback.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson will be understudy

Fri, 27 Apr 2018 20:53:25 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will not unseat QB Joe Flacco as the team's starter in 2018, according to head coach John Harbaugh. "Joe Flacco is our quarterback, and that's the thing that you've got to remember. Lamar's gonna have a great chance to develop. I think you get to this stage in a quarterback's career, you see it done in New England and you've seen it done in a lot of places," Harbaugh said.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson will be holding the clipboard, seeing his only game action in the preseason or if disaster strikes during the regular season such as a long-term injury to Flacco. Jackson is a nice dynasty pick in most fantasy leagues, but in seasonal plays he'll only be a waiver wire addition in season if he even sees the field at all.
