Ravens | Lamar Jackson has uneven effort

Mon, 20 Aug 2018 20:30:52 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson finished 7-of-15 for 49 yards and a touchdown and added 26 yards rushing on four carries in Week 2 preseason action against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: This game again showed why fantasy owners should be both excited and need to be patient with the former Heisman Trophy winner, as his touchdown pass on the run to Chris Moore was a thing of beauty. Conversely, he absorbed too much punishment trying to make things happen as a runner. His athleticism is going to put him on the high-end QB2 radar if Joe Flacco gets hurt, but it is obvious he needs more time to develop his game.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson runs for TD

Thu, 09 Aug 2018 20:37:14 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed seven of his 18 passes for 119 yards and rushed five times for 21 yards and a touchdown in a 33-7 preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: His rushing ability gives him QB1 upside whenever he does have the chance to start, but Jackson will ultimately have to prove he can deliver from the pocket if he is going to be successful. In the meantime, he is a must-own option in keeper formats.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson uneven in debut

Thu, 02 Aug 2018 20:33:35 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed four of his 10 pass attempts for 33 yards, a touchdown and an interception and ran eight times for 25 yards in a 17-16 preseason win over the Chicago Bears Thursday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson made some plays with his legs but was inconsistent as a passer. He isn't a lock to contribute in redraft leagues this year, but he has QB1 upside because of his rushing ability and is a must-own option in keeper formats.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to see regular-season snaps

Tue, 24 Jul 2018 20:15:02 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is "one way or another … going to be out there, taking snaps," according to head coach John Harbaugh. "Lamar is also a weapon for us, who can play quarterback. And we're going to play Lamar at quarterback … So we're going to play all of our good players. I don't see why we wouldn't. … Situationally, whatever we can figure out. We're still figuring that out. I don't know how exactly, yet. So one way or another, he's going to be out there, taking snaps. He's doing a lot of things," Harbaugh said.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson impressing coaches

Sun, 22 Jul 2018 13:21:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has shown "accelerated improvement" and is "way ahead of the curve now," according to offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Fantasy Tip: ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports Jackson has already moved ahead of Robert Griffin III on the depth chart. Joe Flacco isn't in any immediate danger of losing his starting job, but Jackson's name will come up throughout the season anytime he has a bad game or two. The rookie is a great best-ball lottery ticket and has QB1 upside if he manages to become the starter at some point in 2018.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson being worked in

Fri, 20 Jul 2018 18:36:50 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was on the field at the same time as QB Joe Flacco for a few plays during training camp Thursday, July 19.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco is still expected to open the year as the starter, but Jackson may have some packages or at least some gadget plays. He probably needs an injury to Flacco to be a useful fantasy asset this year, but he's a must-own option in keeper formats because of his dual-threat potential.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson runs the show

Sat, 16 Jun 2018 18:25:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson took all the reps during team drills Thursday, June 14, and had his best day throwing the football, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson will probably need an injury to Joe Flacco to make a significant impact in redraft leagues this year, but his Michael Vick-like skills make him a must-own option in keeper formats.

Ravens | Joe Flacco more motivated

Wed, 13 Jun 2018 10:50:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco appears to be more motivated this offseason as a result of the Ravens drafting QB Lamar Jackson and signing QB Robert Griffin III, according to FS Eric Weddle.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco needed some motivation following a lackluster 2017 campaign. The starting job is his to lose as he enters his 10th season, but both Jackson and Griffin give Baltimore options and more creativity with play calling. As it stands, Flacco is cemented in backup fantasy quarterback territory.

Ravens | Baltimore likes Lamar Jackson

Tue, 12 Jun 2018 15:25:26 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has impressed in the open field so far this offseason, but he is working to improve his accuracy, working under center and learning the playbook. Jackson has even lined up at non-quarterback positions at times, which has proven to be a challenge for the defense. LB C.J. Mosley went as far as to say that once Jackson gets outside the pockets it's like watching former NFL QB Michael Vick.
