"I don't want to count anything out or rule myself out, but it's a reality that I won't be able to play again, period," Foley said. Foley was shot in the left leg, hip and hand, which required several surgeries. He said he suffered severe nerve damage in his leg and has lost 50 pounds. Doctors told Foley it could take a year or more for the nerve damage to heal. He can move around on his own, but he has trouble walking and performing other activities. "If I sit down for a short period of time, my leg will stiffen up, my ankle will stiffen up and it makes it even that much more difficult to move around. There's a lot of nerve damage. That's what I'm dealing with, is nerve pain. I'm not able to get around like I normally would be," Foley added.
