Packers | Aaron Jones looking to strengthen legs

Sun, 11 Feb 2018 13:44:13 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones will work on strengthening his legs this offseason so he can hopefully avoid medial collateral ligament tears, according to running backs coach Ben Sirmans.

Fantasy Tip: Jones had a few good games this season but lost his job and could be the No. 3 running back in 2018. Owners should keep an eye on his situation next season because he could be a late-round option in deeper leagues if he has a solid role.

Packers | Green Bay rules out key playmakers

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 09:19:09 -0800

Green Bay Packers WRs Davante Adams (concussion) and Jordy Nelson (shoulder) as well as RB Aaron Jones (knee) and TE Richard Rodgers (shoulder) have all been ruled out for Week 17 versus the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: None of these absences are all that unexpected. Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison and Michael Clark figure to see a heavy dose of the targets at receiver, while Jamaal Williams should see the majority of touches out of the backfield. Lance Kendricks should hog the snaps at tight end. Outside of Williams and maybe Cobb, it will be hard to trust any of the others in fantasy in Week 17.

Packers | Aaron Jones remains sidelined

Thu, 28 Dec 2017 15:31:35 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) did not participate in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: With nothing to play for, the Packers might opt to hold Jones out, especially if he's not able to make it onto the practice field before the weekend. Even if he is active on Sunday, he'd be a very weak play, as Jamaal Williams is expected to dominate the work in the backfield no matter what.

Packers | Aaron Jones unlikely to play Week 17

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 11:19:47 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is not expected to play in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Jamaal Williams will be the favorite to handle most of the workload of the backfield, although fellow rookie Devante Mays may get another chance to prove himself after a forgettable performance in Week 11 in which he fumbled twice, losing one. If Jones sits, Williams should be considered a back-end RB1 for Week 17.

Packers | Aaron Jones to undergo MRI

Sun, 24 Dec 2017 08:18:05 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on the knee injury he suffered in Week 16, but the injury is not considered serious.

Fantasy Tip: Jones has lost the starting job to Jamaal Williams and may not be active for Week 17 since the team is out of playoff contention. He should be avoided in all leagues even if he is active.

Packers | Aaron Jones won't return

Sat, 23 Dec 2017 19:37:56 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) won't return against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16 after suffering a knee injury.

Fantasy Tip: Jamaal Williams should have the backfield all to himself for the remainder of the game, and if Jones can't play in the finale, Williams should be a solid flex play against the Detroit Lions.

Packers | Knee injury for Aaron Jones

Sat, 23 Dec 2017 18:47:50 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (ankle) suffered an ankle injury against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16 and is questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Jamaal Williams has already been serving as the lead back, and if Jones can't return, Williams should be in line for almost all the snaps the rest of the way against the Vikings and potentially in Week 17.
