The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals DE John Copeland (strained right hamstring) and rookie G Victor Leyva (sprained right ankle) are doubtful for New England. Rookie WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh also is doubtful with a bruised heel. WR Danny Farmer (knee), QB Akili Smith (shoulder) and DT Tony Williams (shoulder) are probable. QB Scott Mitchell (ankle sprain) has been ruled out.

Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson reports the team has re-signed DE Jevon Langford. He had been released on Sunday. Langford's agent, Peter Schaffer, confirmed an ESPN.com report Wednesday night, opening up speculation DE John Copeland's injury (see previous story) could be serious enough to land him on season-ending IR list because the Bengals are one player over the 53-man roster. The Bengals had no comment, but Schaffer said Langford plans to sign a three-year contract Thursday morning and practice Thursday afternoon. Also, the Bengals worked out veteran DT Tim Morabito Wednesday after his release from Carolina. Finally, the team waived WR Damon Griffin, with an injury settlement.

As an update to a previous report, SportsLine.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the two-year deal DE John Copeland will receive from the Cincinnati Bengals is believed to be worth $1.2-$1.5 million.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com that free agent DE John Copeland has agreed to re-sign with the Cincinnati Bengals. Copeland's agent, Tim McGee, said Copeland will sign a two-year contract with the Bengals. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

Bengals.com reports the Cincinnati Bengals continue to talk with free agent DE John Copeland about a potential return to the team. However, the two sides remain quite a ways apart in money negotiations.

The Cincinnati Post reports talks are underway to bring back DE John Copeland at a reduced rate. Copelandís agent, Tim McGee, said the Bengals are one of about 18 teams that have shown interest in Copeland. McGee said Copeland is definitely interested in Cincinnati but they will wait until after the June 1 deadline so teams can free up some cap dollars.

According to the team's official site, Philadelphia Eagles DE Mike Mamula became the second veteran DE to be released today as he joined the Bengals John Copeland in the free agent pool. "We really appreciate all of the time and effort Mike has given to this organization," said coach Andy Reid.
