Giants | Davis Webb to start final four games?

Tue, 28 Nov 2017 23:01:46 -0800

New York Giants QB Davis Webb is expected to play the majority of the snaps at quarterback over the remainder of the season and could start as early as Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. QB Geno Smith has already been announced as the starter this week.

Fantasy Tip: So it sounds like it could be one-and-done for Geno Smith on the logic that it would've been too much to ask of Webb to make his NFL debut at Oakland on short notice. It makes a lot more sense for the Giants to want to see what Webb can do as opposed to Smith, who started 30 games with the Jets. It's hard to imagine we'll see much from Webb given how deficient the G-Men are in terms of playmakers, but those in keeper leagues should keep an eye on the Cal product.

Giants | Geno Smith named starting quarterback

Tue, 28 Nov 2017 12:34:13 -0800

New York Giants QB Geno Smith will start in place of QB Eli Manning in Week 13. It is the first time in 13 years that Manning will not be starting a game for the Giants. Head coach Ben McAdoo said the Giants will take a look at both Smith and QB Davis Webb.

Fantasy Tip: This was seemingly inevitable given the Giants' record, injuries and the fact that Manning has not been playing well. New York is ready for next season and they want to evaluate their quarterback situation heading into the offseason. No quarterback on New York's roster is worth starting right now under the circumstances.
