Buccaneers | O.J. Howard heading to IR

Tue, 19 Dec 2017 11:39:24 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (ankle) is expected to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 19. Howard left early in Week 15 with an ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: Howard's impressive rookie season appears to be over, but he made his mark after a slow start. His ceiling is limited as long as Cameron Brate is in town, but Howard has TE1 potential as one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard finds end zone Monday night

Mon, 18 Dec 2017 22:58:49 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard finished with one 30-yard reception that went for a touchdown, before leaving due to injury, in the team's Week 15 defeat Monday, Dec. 18, against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has finally emerged with some consistency in recent weeks, but his ankle injury could be a real setback in terms of how he finishes up his rookie season, as the Bucs could opt to play it safe and keep him out with nothing to play for. Cameron Brate was productive in his absence and will be someone to consider deploying if Howard remains sidelined.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard out for game

Mon, 18 Dec 2017 18:59:17 -0800

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (ankle) is out for the rest of the game Monday, Dec. 18, against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: That's an unfortunate blow for owners relying on Howard in their fantasy playoff matchup, but the rookie out of Alabama was at least able to contribute a 30-yard touchdown catch before departing. Interestingly, teammate Cameron Brate (knee) also had to exit the Monday night affair due to injury.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard exits, questionable to return

Mon, 18 Dec 2017 18:40:05 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (ankle) left the game Monday, Dec. 18, versus the Atlanta Falcons due to an ankle injury. He's questionable to return to the contest.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has finally been starting to show some consistency, recording more than 50 receiving yards in three of the last four games entering Week 15, so this would be a tough blow if he has to miss any time. Fortunately, he did at least make one big contribution before departing, hauling in his only target for a 30-yard touchdown.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard posts 54 yards, TD

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 18:53:27 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard ended up with four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has all the tools to be a TE1 going forward, but he has had to share the wealth with Cameron Brate. The rookie is starting to push ahead of Brate on the depth chart and he could be a fantasy stud in 2018 and beyond.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard caught three passes for 52 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has recorded 104 yards and one touchdown over the last two games and has been more involved in the passing game recently. He should be considered a No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard gets into end zone

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 17:33:14 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard posted three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has shown glimpses of brilliance in the past, but then fantasy owners flock to pick him up only to be disappointed. Wait to see more consistency on a week-to-week basis before trusting him again. The Falcons host the Buccaneers in Week 12.

Buccaneers | One grab for O.J. Howard

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 17:02:44 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard posted just one grab for six yards on two targets in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. To make matters worse, Howard also lost a fumble.

Fantasy Tip: And for the second straight week, we reiterate that all of the talk in the Twitterverse about the rookie emerging as a TE1 in all fantasy leagues was premature. He is a TE2 at best, and at this rate he is lucky to be considered that.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard disappoints in loss

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 13:54:56 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard picked up two receptions for 16 yards on his two targets in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: There has been talk in the Twittersphere that Howard might be trusted as a TE1 in fantasy leagues, but that's a bit premature. As long as Cameron Brate (who led the team in receiving yardage Sunday) is healthy, Howard remains a No. 2 option in most fantasy formats.
