Buccaneers | O.J. Howard finding a rhythm

Sun, 20 Aug 2017 19:31:04 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard showed improved chemistry with QB Jameis Winston during practice Sunday, Aug. 20, according to Mark Cook of PewterReport.com.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has loads of long-term potential, but the Buccaneers have several weapons in the passing game, including tight end Cameron Brate. Howard is a must-own option in dynasty formats, but he doesn't need to be owned in redraft leagues.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard to focus mostly on blocking?

Tue, 15 Aug 2017 09:05:50 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard will most likely make his mark as a blocker - and not a receiver - early in the season, according to ESPN.com's Jenna Laine.

Fantasy Tip: Howard will likely be a Pro Bowl tight end in years to come, but he is getting overdrafted, perhaps in part due to the solid rookie year enjoyed by Hunter Henry in 2016. The Bucs want to run the ball first and foremost, while Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and Cameron Brate give Jameis Winston a solid trio of options in the passing game. Owners should be able to ignore Howard in redrafts, as he will likely be available off waivers by the time Tampa Bay is ready for him to make a fantasy impact.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard playing well

Fri, 04 Aug 2017 18:31:52 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard saw time with the first-team offense and the second unit during practice Friday, Aug. 4, and he caught most of the passes thrown his way and blocked well in the run game, according Joe Kania to of Buccaneers.com.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has elite athleticism for a tight end. He is worth a flier as a high-upside TE2 this year, and he is a long-term TE1 prospect.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston pumped to have O.J Howard

Sat, 01 Jul 2017 19:30:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston said TE O.J. Howard is going to do "amazing" things for the offense. "This is the fastest, most athletic 6-6, 255 guy I've ever seen in my life," Winston said Saturday, July 1. "It's unreal."

Fantasy Tip: Howard's physical tools are off the charts, but he is likely going to be involved some type of timeshare with Cameron Brate, making Howard an upside TE2 in redraft leagues.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate to remain the starter?

Sat, 10 Jun 2017 18:22:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate and QB Jameis Winston have a chemistry that is "going to be tough to dethrone," according to Trevor Sikkema of PetwerReport.com, and Sikkema believes Brate could make it difficult for TE O.J. Howard to be the No. 1 option at the position.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has long-term upside as a TE1 and is the preferred option in keeper leagues. However, Winston looked Brate's way a lot in the red zone last year, and his touchdown potential should allow Brate to remain a quality TE2 this season.

Buccaneers | O.J. Howard making quick transition

Sun, 07 May 2017 17:14:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard "can do everything" a tight end needs to do, head coach Dirk Koetter said after the first day of rookie minicamp, and Howard said the similarities between Koetter's offense and the system he ran in college has helped make the transition easier.

Fantasy Tip: Rookie tight ends don't typically make an instant impact, but Howard is still worth a look as a high-upside TE2 this year, and he has TE1 potential long term.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate still in the plans

Fri, 28 Apr 2017 21:48:13 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate is a "heck of a player" and will still be involved in the offense despite the addition of TE O.J. Howard, according to general manager Jason Licht. "In our offense and a lot of offenses in today's day and age, you have two tight ends," Licht said.

Fantasy Tip: Brate will undoubtedly lose targets to Howard and DeSean Jackson, and his chances of being a TE1 in 2017 have disappeared. That being said, his impact in the red zone could keep him in the TE2 conversation.
