Packers | Jamaal Williams seeking to get faster

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 22:34:37 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams conceded that in his exit interviews with head coach Mike McCarthy and running backs coach Ben Sirmans, "We were just in agreement that I've got to get my feet quicker and just get a little more speed happening and make sure that my knees are up. So, I'm just going to be working on my lateral movements, speed, make sure I get my knees up, make sure my lower body's a lot stronger."

Fantasy Tip: Williams flashed some interesting potential in his rookie season, ultimately leading the team in rushing with 556 yards while also adding four touchdowns. However, he needed 153 rush attempts to garner that yardage -- good for just 3.6 yards per carry -- so it won't be an easy path to reclaim the starting job with Ty Montgomery (wrist) and Aaron Jones (knee) returning to full health. Whoever is Green Bay's starting running back going into next year will hold notable value considering Aaron Rodgers will be healthy to begin the campaign.

WR Trevor Davis led the team in receiving with 56 yards on three grabs, while WR Randall Cobb had four receptions, 45 yards and a touchdown while also tossing a 10-yard pass to Hundley.

Packers | Jamaal Williams likely for bulk of work

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 14:42:40 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams is likely to handle a bulk of the workload in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions with RB Aaron Jones (knee) unlikely to play.

Fantasy Tip: Williams should be a decent RB3 or flex fantasy option for leagues deciding their league champion in the final weekend, while Devante Mays might see snaps as his backup.

Packers | Jamaal Williams unspectacular in loss

Sat, 23 Dec 2017 21:21:32 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed 15 times for 58 yards in a 16-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Williams continues to serve as the lead back, but his value is capped by the inconsistent play of Brett Hundley and the offense as a whole. He receives enough touches to be used as a flex play, but he will need to find the end zone to creep into RB2 territory.

Packers | Jamaal Williams goes nowhere

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 15:28:39 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed 10 times for 30 yards in the Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers. He did not have any receptions or targets.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was disappointing, but it was to be expected against a stout Carolina rush defense. He faces another tough matchup at home Saturday against the Vikings in Week 16.

Packers | Jamaal Williams the main man in Green Bay

Sat, 16 Dec 2017 10:01:59 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams is the team's "workhorse running back," even with fellow rookie Aaron Jones completely healthy, according to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky.

Fantasy Tip: Williams out-snapped Jones 48-2 in Week 13 when the latter returned from his knee injury and 50-8 last week when Jones was removed from the injury report, so it would seem Williams is firmly ahead on the depth chart. The problem is Williams has averaged 3.4 yards per carry or worse in four of the five games in which he has been featured, so he's benefited quite a bit from volume. Regardless, he's a clear starter in fantasy until his snap share and touches take a hit.

Packers | Jamaal Williams totals two TDs

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 16:22:32 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed 15 times for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns and he added seven catches for 69 yards and a score on seven targets.

Fantasy Tip: Williams had a giant game, leading the way with 22 touches. Meanwhile, Aaron Jones had four runs for minus-2 yards, so it appears Williams is going to be the leading back heading into Week 15 and beyond.

Packers | Jamaal Williams tops century mark

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 16:10:06 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed 21 times for 113 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he added two gabs for 10 yards on three targets.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is likely to see plenty of touches down the stretch with Ty Montgomery (ribs) done for the season and Aaron Jones (knee) just now making his way back from injury. Williams is worth using as an RB3 or flex fantasy option down the stretch.

Packers | Jamaal Williams to lead the way

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 21:28:00 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams is expected to receive most of the work against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13, even with RB Aaron Jones (knee) expected to play, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: There is always the chance that Jones catches fire and steals a chunk of the touches, but Williams should at least be a solid flex option in Week 13.

Packers | Jamaal Williams wants to carry load

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 20:01:26 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams views himself as a "workhorse" because of his downhill style. "I really just try to be consistent and the way I run the ball, make sure defenders know every time they try to tackle me it's going to be a hard tackle," Williams said.

Fantasy Tip: If Aaron Jones is unable to play in Week 13, Williams would be a volume-based RB2 against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has allowed 10 rushing scores this year.
