Texans | Chemistry growing for DeAndre Hopkins

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 18:55:53 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins said the chemistry between he and QB Deshaun Watson is improving every day. "We're growing, we're getting to know each other, and it's getting better, I can say," Hopkins said.

Fantasy Tip: In their first full game together, Watson targeted Hopkins 13 times. The big plays haven't been there, but the huge workload should make him a low-end WR2, especially in PPR formats, against the Patriots in Week 3.

Texans | Deshaun Watson has rough framing for NE matchup

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 07:22:15 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has a tough matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 3 based on historical data. No rookie quarterback has won in New England since head coach Bill Belichick was hired in 2000. They are 0-8 with five touchdowns, 16 interceptions and a 50.7 passer rating.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is only an option in dynasty leagues or in leagues where you must start two quarterbacks. However, this week isn't a strong matchup.

Texans | Mixed results for Deshaun Watson

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 20:42:45 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson completed 15 of his 24 pass attempts for 125 yards and rushed five times for 67 yards and a touchdown in a 13-9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Watson struggled throwing the ball and looked nervous in the pocket, but he flashed his upside with a 49-yard rushing score. There are going to be plenty of growing pains for the rookie, but his scrambling ability should keep him in the QB2 conversation.

Texans | Deshaun Watson, Tom Savage on track to play

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 15:16:20 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) and QB Tom Savage (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 13, and are not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is expected to start the game, but the team has not named the starter at this point. Both Savage and Watson had problems in Week 1 and neither should be a starting option in any fantasy leagues.

Texans | Deshaun Watson practices with starters

Tue, 12 Sep 2017 12:17:35 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson took repetitions with the first-team offense in a walk-through practice Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Watson still has room to grow as a rookie, but he was clearly the more successful and beneficial quarterback for the Texans in Week 1. If the rookie does start, he remains a No. 2 fantasy quarterback versus the Cincinnati Bengals. He would be a solid waiver wire addition as a backup, though.

Texans | Deshaun Watson will start Thursday

Tue, 12 Sep 2017 04:33:11 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson will start the game Thursday, Sept. 14, against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: After the subpar performance of Tom Savage early in the first game, the Texans rolled the dice and went with Watson. He didn't do much better down the stretch, but it might be time to see what Watson is made of on a regular basis. Do not start Watson in your fantasy league just yet, as it's going to take time for his skills to sharpen.

Texans | Deshaun Watson limited

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 15:27:31 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) was limited during the team's walkthrough Monday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Watson played the second half of the team's Week 1 game and is in the running to start in Week 2. He had an up-and-down performance during his limited playing time against the Jacksonville Jaguars and should be avoided in fantasy leagues if he starts.

Texans | Deshaun Watson has ankle injury

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 06:32:23 -0700

Updating earlier reports, Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) was spotted limping Sunday, Sept. 10, with an ankle injury, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Texans play the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday night, and the ankle injury could keep Tom Savage in the starting lineup. Both are QB2 options, but Watson has more roster clout in fantasy.
