Texans | Deshaun Watson ahead of schedule

Tue, 22 May 2018 11:54:03 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) has made significant progress in his rehabilitation from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and is considered ahead of schedule.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is coming along nicely. Don't look too much into him not participating in OTAs. As long as he stays on the path he's on he'll be good to go for the regular season. Draft him as a No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

Texans | Deshaun Watson on track for camp

Tue, 15 May 2018 00:59:36 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) is "on schedule to participate in training camp," according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Fantasy Tip: Watson suffered a serious knee injury about midway through his rookie campaign a year ago, but it looks like that won't limit him going into his second season. Owners should be viewing Watson as a potential QB1 after he logged 19 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions in his seven games (six starts), as evidenced by being the third quarterback drafted, per current ADP figures.

Texans | Deshaun Watson to be active for OTAs?

Wed, 04 Apr 2018 20:31:40 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) "may be able to do a few things with the team" once organized team activities begin, according to head coach Bill O'Brien, who added that he likes "where he is right now" and that "training camp is the ultimate goal for him."

Fantasy Tip: Watson looks like he's on track to be ready for the start of the 2018 regular season. Considering what he did last year as a rookie, tossing 19 touchdowns versus only eight interceptions in seven games (six starts), the 22-year-old will be a nice sleeper pick after the usual QB1 options are selected in drafts. Keep in mind, however, that the Texans recently announced they will have a "dramatically" different offense, so nothing is a given.

Texans | Deshaun Watson could be back for OTAs

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 21:47:05 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) appears like he could be ready in time for the start of organized team activities, as "the expectation" is that "he will be on the field" when they get underway.

Fantasy Tip: Watson was enjoying a marvelous rookie season before going down in the middle of the year with a torn ACL in practice that torpedoed Houston's season. Since it looks like he'll be fully healthy in time for Week 1, owners need to seriously consider Watson as their QB1 for the upcoming campaign, especially since he can provide excellent value with where he will probably be drafted.

Texans | Deshaun Watson running without knee brace

Thu, 08 Mar 2018 20:29:14 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) began running without a knee brace at the team's practice facility Thursday, March 8.

Fantasy Tip: The No. 12 overall pick in last year's NFL Draft was in the midst of putting together a memorable rookie campaign before sustaining a torn ACL in practice on a non-contact play, so this should hopefully be a sign that he'll be ready for the start of next season. After logging an outstanding 103.0 passer rating in his seven games, Watson has the chance to be a real dark horse QB1 in all formats for 2018.

Texans | Deshaun Watson ahead of schedule

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 15:41:05 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) remains ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in his right knee last season, head coach Bill O'Brien said Wednesday, Feb. 28. He might even be able to participate in some organized team activities (OTAs).

Fantasy Tip: Watson was humming along, taking the fantasy world by storm last season, before suffering his season-ending injury. He and DeAndre Hopkins, as well as Will Fuller, were fantasy studs during the middle portion of the season. A healthy Watson in 2018 makes the Houston offense and interesting situation to watch for fantasy purposes.
