Buccaneers | Chris Godwin will play more

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 10:19:41 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin earned the right to have a bigger role in Tampa Bay's offense this year, according to general manager Jason Licht. Licht lauded Godwin as a smart, hard-working and unselfish player.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin is expected to serve as Tampa Bay's No. 3 wide receiver behind Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. His fantasy ceiling will be low as long as those two are healthy, but he's a prime example of a potential late-round sleeper and is better suited for standard leagues.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin goes for 98 yards

Sun, 24 Dec 2017 13:48:37 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin managed three receptions for 98 yards on six targets in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin's day was highlighted by a 70-yard catch and run, as he took advantage of the absence of DeSean Jackson to shine. He has a little upside for fantasy owners heading into 2018 and beyond, but his usefulness will be dictated on what the Bucs do in free agency and the draft.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin expected to start

Fri, 22 Dec 2017 15:45:33 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is expected to start in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin might be starting opposite Mike Evans, and he posted five grabs for 68 yards on 10 targets in Week 10 when he drew a start in place of the suspended Evans. He should be viewed as a WR4 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams with a little upside.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin leads way in loss

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 18:52:40 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin finished with five receptions for a team-high 68 yards on six targets in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin has emerged as a solid pass catcher down the stretch for the Bucs, although fantasy owners of Mike Evans aren't terribly pleased with his emergence. Despite the solid play lately Godwin is still nothing more than a WR4 in deeper fantasy leagues down the stretch. He could be a nice sleeper in 2017, however.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin has solid outing

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 14:05:24 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught five passes for 68 yards against the New York Jets in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin received a bigger role with Mike Evans out of the lineup but could receive a bigger role moving forward. He can be owned in deeper leagues but probably will stay on the bench most weeks.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin could see increased role

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 18:57:56 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin "could step into a much larger role" in Week 10 against the New York Jets with Mike Evans serving a one-game suspension.

Fantasy Tip: Godwin has exactly one catch in each of the last five games and has made more of an impact on special teams while biding his time behind Evans and DeSean Jackson. It's unlikely he'll make a fantasy impact this week either - especially with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center - but he is someone who should very much remain on the radar of dynasty league owners, as he could eventually take over for Jackson if the Buccaneers eventually decide he is making too money for a second receiver.
