Thu, 23 Nov 2017 16:45:58 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine (finger) is officially active for the team's Week 12 game.

Fantasy Tip: Perine should receive most of the work at running back with Rob Kelley and Chris Thompson out of the season. He can be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in all fantasy leagues.

Redskins | Samaje Perine's status in question

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 18:03:42 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine (finger) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 22, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Perine should be able to play against the New York Giants, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. Perine should receive most of the touches at running back because the injuries the team has at the position and should be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in standard leagues.

Redskins | Samaje Perine limited

Tue, 21 Nov 2017 14:12:50 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine (finger) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Perine is the Redskins' workhorse running back going forward, with Byron Marshall spotting him on passing downs. Perine really showed up last week and established himself as Washington's go-to back thanks to injuries to fellow backfield mates. View Perine as an RB2 for the remainder of the season.

Redskins | Samaje Perine tops 100 yards

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 18:31:41 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine rushed 23 times for 117 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for nine yards in a 34-31 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: With Chris Thompson going down with a broken leg, Perine should be in line for a sizeable workload going forward. He will have RB2 upside as a major player in Washington's solid offense.

Redskins | Samaje Perine is best of the lot

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 18:12:19 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine rushed nine times for a team-high 35 yards in the Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings. RB Chris Thompson ran nine times for 26 yards, and RB Rob Kelley had just 10 yards on four totes.

Fantasy Tip: Perine was the best of the trio, but that's not saying much. He also tacked on a 25-yard reception, while Thompson was good for 41 yards on three receptions. Perine remains more of an RB3 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, while Thompson has far more appeal in PPR formats.

Redskins | Samaje Perine used sparingly

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:51:35 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine finished with nine carries for 23 yards and three catches for 24 yards and a touchdown in a 26-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Perine salvaged his afternoon with a receiving touchdown, but with Rob Kelley sidelined, it was Chris Thompson leading the team with 16 rush attempts. Even if Kelley missed more time, it is going to be tough to trust Perine as a starter against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7.

Redskins | Samaje Perine set for expanded role

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 19:01:59 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine will get the majority of the carries in the team's Week 6 game Sunday, Oct. 15, if RB Rob Kelley doesn't play, according to head coach Jay Gruden. He added that RB Chris Thompson would remain in his third-down role, while RB Mack Brown would serve as the third running back.

Fantasy Tip: With Kelley unlikely to suit up this weekend, this will be a situation to monitor, as Perine could be a potential RB2 for owners. At the very least, he'll make a formidable FLEX option in the event Kelley has to sit. This is also unfortunate news for Thompson, who has shown plenty of potential that he can put up some nice numbers with increased work out of the backfield. Perine looks like the clear biggest beneficiary from Kelley being sidelined.
