Redskins | Rob Kelley questionable for Week 3

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 13:50:06 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ribs) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is questionable for Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders. He remains in pain, and has been trying different things to alleviate the discomfort including sleeping with pillows on his back. He added that he might wear a protective vest if he plays.

Fantasy Tip: The second-year back out of Tulane has managed 10 or more carries in each of his first two games and he'll remain the lead back for the Redskins when healthy, with Chris Thompson working in a third-down capacity and Samaje Perine seeing work in relief. Kelley is best used as a RB3 or flex play when healthy.

Redskins | Rob Kelley gets in another practice

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 10:34:58 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) participated in practice for a third straight day Friday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley was limited Wednesday and Thursday, so owners shouldn't consider him a lock to play Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders quite yet, even though it is looking better now than it did a few days ago. Even though Kelley will almost certainly start if he is cleared and would be a solid RB3/flex if he plays, he is in danger of losing a few more snaps to Chris Thompson.

Redskins | Rob Kelley limited again

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 15:46:54 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Rob Kelley (rib) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley's pain tolerance likely will determine his status for Week 3. He may receive limited work if he does play in the game, so owners may want to consider other options and keep Kelley on the bench this week.

Redskins | Rob Kelley hopes to play

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 18:06:30 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) said he hopes to play in Week 3 even though he is dealing with a rib injury he suffered in Week 2. He said he will wear a pad over his ribs to protect them if he is active for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley probably will be able to play if he is able to handle the pain, so owners will have a better idea of his status later in the week. Kelley may be limited because of the injury if he plays and may not be more than a flex option in fantasy leagues if he is limited.

Redskins | Limited practice for Rob Kelley

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:14:22 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley's availability may be determined by how he can handle the pain, so owners should keep an eye on the situation during the week. He played well before leaving the Week 2 game because of the injury and could be a flex option in leagues if he is able to handle his normal workload.

Redskins | Rob Kelley also day-to-day

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 12:39:39 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ribs) is considered day-to-day with a rib cartilage injury.

Fantasy Tip: Perine received 21 carries last weekend due to Kelley being sidelined. If Kelley is forced to miss time then Perine will be a bargain play in daily contests next week even after gaining just 67 yards on those 21 attempts.

Redskins | Rob Kelley leads way with 78 yards

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:27:15 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley rushed 12 times for a team-high 78 yards in Week 2 at L.A. Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley remains more of a RB3 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 3 against the Raiders. Unfortunately for fantasy owners of Kelley, the touchdowns on the ground went to Chris Thompson in the Week 2 victory.

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 14:34:01 -0700

Kelley walked to the sidelines under his own power and went to the locker room for further examination. Kelley has a rib injury and is questionable to return.

Redskins | Weak debut for Rob Kelley

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 14:09:41 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley rushed 10 times for 30 yards in a 30-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Kelley tied Kirk Cousins for top yardage on the team, which isn't saying much. Consider Kelley an RB3 at best until he has a little more seasoning. His preseason was up-and-down at best, but Kelley has the starting job for now.
