Mike Tulumello, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Ahmad Merritt (ankle) suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle, which required surgery Monday, Aug. 20. Whether or not he will be placed on Injured Reserve is not clear, but he is unlikely to play for the Cardinals in 2007.
