Dodgers | Yaisel Sierra financial details

Fri, 04 Mar 2016 19:42:21 -0800

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers SP Yaisel Sierra's six-year contract includes a $6 million signing bonus. He will make a base salary of $1 million in 2016, $2.5 million in 2017, $3.5 million in 2018, $4 million in 2019, $5.5 million in 2020 and $7.5 million in 2021. Sierra's deal can be voided if he becomes eligible for salary arbitration.

Fantasy Tip: Owners in cavernous keeper and dynasty leagues should keep tabs on the 24-year-old right-hander, who is likely to begin the season in the minors but isn't considered to be far away from reaching the majors.

Dodgers | Yaisel Sierra signs with Dodgers

Sun, 21 Feb 2016 06:49:38 -0800

Cuban free-agent SP Yaisel Sierra signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, Feb. 21. Financial terms were undisclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Sierra has a mid-90s fastball, a good slider and isn't far from being ready for the highest level. Overall, he has a fairly high ceiling. However, landing in the starting rotation in 2016 could be a tall task. Sierra is a player to watch in all fantasy formats, but outside of cavernous keeper/dynasty formats, he doesn't project to warrant a roster spot.

Cuban free-agent SP Yaisel Sierra is nearing a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday, Jan. 12. The deal is believed to be worth around $30 million for six or seven years.

Fantasy Tip: Sierra may need some time in the minors, but he could be a factor at some point this season. Monitor him this spring, and he could be worth a late flyer in drafts.
