Chiefs | Kareem Hunt held in check

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 20:06:21 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt finished with a season-low nine carries for 37 yards and caught four passes for 24 yards in a 28-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: The rookie's rushing totals have been lacking in recent weeks, but an upcoming bye week and Week 11 matchup with an imploding New York Giants team should help Hunt return to his RB1 form.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt's record streak ends on MNF

Mon, 30 Oct 2017 21:35:53 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt was held to a season-low 68 yards from scrimmage in the team's Week 8 victory Monday, Oct. 30, versus the Denver Broncos. He had 46 rushing yards on 22 carries to go with three receptions for 22 yards. It was the first time Hunt did not record 100 total yards after hitting that plateau in an NFL-record seven straight games to begin his career.

Fantasy Tip: Well, Hunt's remarkable streak had to be snapped at some point, and it was halted by a stingy Broncos defense. Nonetheless, Hunt has been one of the league's biggest surprises in 2017 and this particular showing shouldn't suddenly slow down the 22-year-old. He should still be inserted as an RB1 in all leagues.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt refuses to go down easily

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 09:52:46 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt has forced a NFL-high 37 missed tackles over the first seven games of his career, putting him on pace for 85 according to Pro Football Focus. Over the past two full seasons per PFF, no running back has finished with more than 60 in a season.

Fantasy Tip: Hunt's big plays have fallen off recently as the Chiefs have been without two starting offensive lineman and defenses have adjusted, but the rookie's ability to play through contact has been impressive throughout. With his two offensive linemen - guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and center Mitch Morse - expected back as soon as this week, look for Hunt's fantasy numbers to spike again soon. Keep him in fantasy lineups despite a difficult matchup with the Denver Broncos in Week 8.

Chiefs | Turnovers not an issue for Chiefs

Tue, 24 Oct 2017 13:00:50 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt lost a fumble on the first carry of his career and on the first play of the Chiefs' season. Since then, Kansas City has not turned the ball over.

Fantasy Tip: There are a few words and/or phrases to describe this, one of them is mind-boggling. Alex Smith, Hunt and the rest of the offense have been ultra-secure with the football this season a big reason why they lead the AFC West at 5-2 and have been such big fantasy factors.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt already setting records

Sat, 21 Oct 2017 19:07:43 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt is the only player in NFL history to gain 100 or more yards from scrimmage in each of his first seven games.

Fantasy Tip: Not only does Hunt lead the league in rushing, but his sizeable role in the passing game allows him to remain a weapon no matter the score and pace of play. He will be a must-start RB1 when the Chiefs face the Denver Broncos in Week 8.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt posts 117 total yards

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 22:13:42 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt carried the ball 18 times for 87 yards against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, Oct. 19. He added four receptions for 30 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Make it seven straight of more than 100 total yards for Hunt, who continues to make big plays and move piles. The only asterisk to Hunt's unbelievable rookie campaign is the ongoing touchdown drought; he hasn't scored since Week 3 after scoring six times in his first three games. He'll get a nice break to recharge his batteries as the Chiefs don't play until Oct. 30 against the Broncos.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt fine for Thursday

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:23:29 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt (knee) will be active Thursday, Oct. 19, versus the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: The rookie phenom has been matchup-proof through the first several weeks of his first professional season. He won't have to worry about Charcandrick West stealing touchdowns this week either as West will not be active. Start Hunt as a high-end RB1 per usual.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt a full participant

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 14:25:20 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt (knee) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Hunt has been on fire in his inaugural professional season. Meanwhile, the Oakland Raiders have been one of the league's worst defenses against running backs. Start Hunt as you normally would even on a short week.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt has full practice Monday

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 19:47:43 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt (knee) was a full participant in practice Monday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hunt was a bit humbled for the first time in his rookie campaign on Sunday, being held to just 21 yards on the ground on nine carries, but he still managed to salvage his day with five catches for 89 yards through the air. He'll be out there on Thursday night and as usual, he can be fired up as a trusty RB1.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt bottled up on ground

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 19:10:02 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt rushed nine times for 21 yards in the Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, although he did post five receptions for a team-high 89 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: With his 100-plus scrimmage yards, he is the first rookie in NFL history to go over 100 or more yards in each of his first six games. Hunt performed well for his PPR fantasy owners, but those in standard formats weren't as thrilled with the production. It's a quick turnaround with the Chiefs traveling to visit the Raiders on Thursday night in Week 7.
