Bengals | Tyler Boyd missed Week 2 with tight hamstring

Fri, 15 Sep 2017 09:04:52 -0700

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (hamstring) felt his hamstring tighten up "real late in the process," which ultimately led to him being inactive Week 2 against the Houston Texans, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: This makes more sense than the initial report of "healthy scratch," as Boyd played nearly 70 percent of the snaps in Week 1. However, he is still very much a player who belongs on the waiver wire is in most fantasy leagues.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd absence not injury related

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 22:24:14 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd was not inactive for medical reasons, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. It was originally believed Boyd was suffering from a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: The plot thickens. Boyd, a second-round pick last year, was down after the team chose to activate John Ross, but it's at least somewhat surprising Boyd was the casualty instead of Alex Erickson. Already a marginal option, Boyd is currently of no interest outside deep leagues.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd dealing with injury

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 16:27:19 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (hamstring) is not playing in Week 2 because of a tight hamstring, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should look for more on Boyd's injury after the game to see if he will miss more time. Brandon LaFell and John Ross should receive more playing time with Boyd out and could be flex options in some deeper leagues.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd will not play in Week 2

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 16:15:19 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd has been declared inactive for the team's Week 2 game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known why Boyd is inactive, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Brandon LaFell and Jos Ross may receive more targets with Boyd sitting and could be flex options in some deeper leagues, but owners should not expect big numbers from either player.

Bengals | Only one grab for Tyler Boyd

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 18:23:53 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd snared just one reception for 11 yards in Week 1 against the Ravens. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd didn't do much behind A.J. Green and Brandon LaFell, and it didn't help that Andy Dalton was a complete train wreck in the opener. Boyd has some upside, but for now he is more of a receiver to stash for later use rather than use in active fantasy lineups right now.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd not listed

Fri, 08 Sep 2017 12:30:02 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd likely will serve as the No. 2 or. No. 3 receiver for the Bengals but probably will be third or four option in the passing game. Owners in most leagues probably can avoid him and find better options.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd also puts in full practice

Thu, 07 Sep 2017 12:39:06 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd has the ability to solidify himself as the Bengals' No. 2 wide receiver, but for now he'll be trying to take away targets from A.J. Green, Tyler Eifert, Brandon LaFell and others. Boyd is just too low on the totem pole for him to be seriously considered as a fantasy starter.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd practices in full Wednesday

Wed, 06 Sep 2017 13:46:34 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (hamstring) was able to take part in a full practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Boyd should see an uptick in targets as long as rookie John Ross (knee) remains sidelined, but he is still fighting for crumbs behind veterans A.J. Green and Brandon LaFell. Boyd is only worth rostering in the deepest of fantasy leagues at the moment.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd the real No. 2 in Cincinnati?

Tue, 22 Aug 2017 10:25:01 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell will be the "official No. 2" to start the season, but WR Tyler Boyd could end up being the second-most productive wide receiver on the team, according to Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner Jr.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals are quite deep at receiver behind A.J. Green, as first-round selection John Ross and Boyd are backing LaFell at the moment. LaFell is average at best in a number of areas as a receiver, so it would not be surprising to see his role diminish as the season progresses. Either way, Green and Tyler Eifert figure to dominate the majority of high-leverage targets in Cincinnati this year.
