Redskins | Career day for Josh Doctson

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 18:43:55 -0800

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson caught four passes on seven targets for a career-high 81 yards in a 34-31 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson has finally carved out a substantial role in the offense, so more solid performances could be on the horizon. He should be owned in all formats at this point, and his big-play ability makes him a potential flex option.

Redskins | Josh Doctson makes four grabs

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 18:15:04 -0800

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson hauled in four receptions for 30 yards on seven targets in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson is remaining healthy and that's the key. He can be a dynamic receiver at this level, especially downfield. For now he remains a solid WR4 fantasy option with some upside.

Redskins | Josh Doctston sets up game winner

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 20:47:03 -0800

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson posted three grabs for 59 yards in the Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson had a beautiful diving grab and nearly rolled into the end zone for the game-winning score, but he was touched down at the half-yard line. He has been hurt for most of his career, but is finally healthy and showing what he is capable of doing. If he is available off the waiver wire he isn't a bad stash option.

Redskins | Josh Doctson to start again

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 19:39:57 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson will likely continue to start ahead of WR Terrelle Pryor at the X receiver position for the time being, according to head coach Jay Gruden, but Gruden said he would play the hot hand.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Washington is going to give Doctson a chance to handle a bigger load, making him worth rostering in all formats. Pryor's value has bottomed out, and your best bet is to sit tight and hope he turns things around. Neither player needs to be starting when Washington faces the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

Redskins | Josh Doctson to play bigger role?

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 09:06:13 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson is expected to see more playing time going forward, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "We are going to actively expand (his role), without a doubt. He didn't get as many reps as I would like at the end of the day when you look at the numbers, but it's our job. We have got to get him in there more and expand it," Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson has played more than 20 snaps twice in five games, including 19 in Week 6, so there is definitely room for his role to grow. With that said, Chris Thompson has been about the only consistently productive pass-catcher in Washington this season despite being a part-timer at running back. Doctson is definitely worthy of a stash in deeper leagues, but it's fair to wonder how many more snaps he'll see or if he can do more with them than Terrelle Pryor and/or Jamison Crowder have with theirs this season.

Redskins | Josh Doctson bangs up shoulder

Tue, 03 Oct 2017 16:18:06 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (shoulder) suffered a minor shoulder injury in the Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Gruden didn't seem to believe the injury is a big concern. Doctson hit the ground hard attempting a game-winning touchdown grab in the fourth quarter. He has been prone to injury during the early days of his NFL career, but is finally starting to show some glimpses of brilliance.

Redskins | Josh Doctson one to watch

Fri, 29 Sep 2017 09:03:47 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson is a receiver teammates believe is starting to come on, according to ESPN.com's John Keim.

Fantasy Tip: Doctson has been snake-bitten by injuries since entering the league as a first-round pick last year, so much so that head coach Jay Gruden appeared to begin questioning his toughness. He made the first impactful play of his career against the Oakland Raiders last week - a 52-yard touchdown on a 50-50 ball from Kirk Cousins - on a play that shows he is starting to earn some trust. He's a worthwhile stash with the talent to become a breakout star if he can stay healthy.
