Titans | Derrick Henry rumbles for 92 yards, TD

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 17:31:30 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 14 times for a career-high 92 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Henry was leaned upon more heavily in the lopsided win with the team holding out veteran DeMarco Murray for most of the second half to rest. Don't look too much into the carries distribution right now, as it was skewed because of the blowout. Now, if in a close game in Week 3 Henry sees more touches than Murray, then it's time to get excited.

Titans | Derrick Henry helps in run, pass game

Sun, 27 Aug 2017 14:27:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed for 24 yards on nine carries in the preseason game against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 27. He also caught three passes for 29 yards and one touchdown in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Henry will be the No. 2 running back for the Titans this season but should still see a decent amount of touches. He can be considered a No. 4 fantasy running back in standard leagues and could also be a handcuff to DeMarco Murray.

Titans | Derrick Henry hits pay dirt twice

Sat, 19 Aug 2017 15:24:18 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry finished with 36 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries and added three receptions for 17 yards against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Henry got the start with DeMarco Murray resting again, but he couldn't get much going outside of his 17-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as the Panthers owned the line of scrimmage in the run game early. He plowed his way for another score on the Titans' next drive. Despite his inefficiency in this contest, Henry is one of the top two or three handcuffs in fantasy football and would be a high-end RB1 if Murray is forced to miss any time this year.

Titans | Derrick Henry set for big 2017?

Fri, 04 Aug 2017 09:12:54 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry had five rushing touchdowns to go along with 490 rushing yards and a 4.5 yards-per-carry average as a rookie, but it is not unrealistic he could come close to doubling his total yards and touchdowns, even as a backup, in 2017, according to ESPN.com's Cameron Wolfe.

Fantasy Tip: Accomplishing those feats would require Henry to push for 200 touches (he had 123 last year) and to win goal-line duties (a strong possibility). It's a tall order for a player who has DeMarco Murray in front of him, and he would almost certainly need the 29-year-old to miss multiple weeks due to injury in order to get there. Henry is still one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy and is well worth a selection in the middle rounds as a low-end RB3 with huge upside.

Titans | Derrick Henry 'hungry' in 2017

Sun, 09 Jul 2017 11:31:25 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry "looks faster" and has generally been impressive in his second offseason, according to TitansOnline.com writer Jim Wyatt, who believes Henry could earn more time if he makes the most of the snaps.

Fantasy Tip: Henry doesn’t figure to create quite the same buzz late this summer that he did as a rookie last season, but there is no question he is still one of the more valuable handcuffs in fantasy. As long as DeMarco Murray is healthy, however, history suggests Henry may disappoint again this year. Head coach Mike Mullarkey has a long history of leaning on his top back, and he's given no indication he plans on straying from that in 2017. Consider Henry a high-upside RB4 at best for now.

Titans | Derrick Henry showing more speed

Sat, 17 Jun 2017 20:21:30 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry looks faster this offseason, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com said Henry has looked more comfortable catching the ball.

Fantasy Tip: Henry is one of the top backup running backs, and if you are a DeMarco Murray owner, you'd be wise to snag Henry as a handcuff. If you own Henry in a keeper format, you just have to sit tight. His time is coming.

Titans | Derrick Henry will see his touches

Thu, 01 Jun 2017 18:49:04 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has looked great in OTAs, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said he will find a way to use both Henry and RB DeMarco Murray.

Fantasy Tip: After such a strong 2016 campaign, Murray looks like a safe bet to lead the backfield again this season. Draft him as a RB1, but make sure to grab Henry as a handcuff.

Titans | Derrick Henry taking part in workouts

Wed, 03 May 2017 09:12:27 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry was back at Saint Thomas Sports Park on Monday, May 2, after missing the first two weeks of the team's voluntary offseason program due to taking classes at the University of Alabama. "He looks great, is moving well and seems to be in very good shape for this time of the year. It's obvious he's been doing a whole lot of work in the time he's been away," running backs coach Sylvester Croom said.

Fantasy Tip: There had been some speculation when Henry didn't show up for the start of voluntary workouts he either was unhappy about DeMarco Murray being handed the job in 2017 or that he wasn't being given the chance to compete for it. This report should quell those concerns. With Murray possibly nearing the end of his prime at age 29, it wouldn't be a surprise if Henry is able to forge a split backfield at some point in 2017.

Titans | Coach has not talked with Derrick Henry

Wed, 26 Apr 2017 13:53:06 -0700

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey said he has not talked with RB Derrick Henry since Henry decided not to report for offseason workouts. Henry is currently taking classes at the University of Alabama.

Fantasy Tip: Henry's role probably will not change much in 2017 but he should continue to see a solid amount of carries during the season. He can be considered a No. 4 running back in fantasy leagues as well as a handcuff for DeMarco Murray owners.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still 'the guy'

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 19:18:49 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is an "important part of the offense", but DeMarco Murray will remain the starter and lead runner in 2017, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Depth-chart proclamations in February mean very little since they usually only serve as a reminder of how things were when the season ended; Henry and Murray obviously haven't set foot on a field in over a month. Murray logged 346 touches in 2016 and is one of the league's more complete running backs, but he is entering his age-29 season and a prime regression candidate. Henry still may not earn enough of a role to be a regular fantasy starter as a sophomore, but he remains a strong buy in dynasty leagues.
