Saints | Michael Thomas held in check

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:04:36 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted three catches for 11 yards on six targets in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas really laid an egg, which is disappointing considering the score was 52-38. If someone came home and checked the score, they probably thought Thomas was in beast mode, but he was mostly invisible. He'll look to rebound in Week 7 in Green Bay. Despite the egg-laying he remains a must-start fantasy option in most formats.

Saints | Michael Thomas catches eight passes

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 09:56:24 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas had eight receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown in Week 4's victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas reached the end zone for the second consecutive week and has demonstrated remarkable consistency of late, averaging 88 receiving yards over his last three games. He should be viewed as a WR2 when the Saints return from their bye in Week 6 versus the Detroit Lions.

Saints | Michael Thomas posts 87 yards, TD

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 13:41:26 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted seven receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 at Carolina. He was targeted a team-high eight times.

Fantasy Tip: The former product from The Ohio State University has emerged as the No. 1 option in the Crescent City and he is flourishing. He has at least five receptions in each of his three games this season and he is averaging 88.0 yards per game over his past two outings. He is a solid low-end WR1 or must-start WR2 heading into Week 3 against the Dolphins in London.

Saints | Michael Thomas targeted 10 times in win

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 19:00:45 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted five receptions for 89 yards on a game-high 10 targets in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: With Brandin Cooks now in New England it is Thomas who is the top dog in the New Orleans offense. He should be treated as more of a WR2 heading into Week 3 at Carolina against a defense that hasn't allowed a touchdown through the first two games.

Saints | Lackluster opener for Michael Thomas

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 20:43:17 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas had a lackluster season debut Monday, Sept. 11, against the Minnesota Vikings, registering just five catches for 45 yards. He was also targeted a team-high eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Entering the regular season, Thomas was one of the more popular picks to explode this year, and while that was far from the case in Week 1, owners should realize much better days will be ahead for the second-year wideout. He'll have a much better shot to live up to his WR1 billing when he takes on the Patriots next week at home in a probable shootout.

Saints | Michael Thomas can make his mark

Tue, 04 Jul 2017 16:02:31 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas can become the seventh wide receiver in NFL history to achieve 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns over his first two seasons. The other players to accomplish this feat are former NFL WRs Dave Parks, Randy Moss, John Jefferson, Bob Hayes, Bill Groman and New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was easily the best rookie receiver last year and is now the No. 1 wide receiver in New Orleans with the departure of Brandin Cooks. The Saints pass a ton, so don't be surprised to see Thomas make history in 2017. He's a low-end WR1 option heading into his sophomore season.

Saints | Michael Thomas has put on weight

Thu, 25 May 2017 14:47:27 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has added some extra weight this offseason, increasing from 210 pounds to 220 pounds.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas took the league by storm last year en route to 92 catches, over 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns. With Brandin Cooks now in New England, Thomas assumes the Saints' No. 1 receiver role. He's almost a sure bet to end his second season as a WR1 with Drew Brees still throwing his way.

NFL | Mike Williams draws lofty comparison

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 18:36:44 -0700

Clemson WR Mike Williams was compared to New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas by an NFL scout following William's pro day performance Thursday, March 16.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is coming off a monster rookie season, but he certainly benefited from playing in the pass-happy offense of the Saints. Williams has the size and skills to make an immediate fantasy impact, but it will be tough to gauge his value until after he has a home in the NFL.

Saints | Michael Thomas had memorable rookie year

Thu, 09 Feb 2017 17:20:17 -0800

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted the second-most receptions of any rookie receiver in NFL history this past season. He logged 92 catches, finishing only behind Detroit Lions WR Anquan Boldin, who recorded 101 receptions in his debut year back in 2003 with the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Taken in the middle of the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Thomas easily smashed all expectations bestowed upon him, as he also compiled 1,137 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in his freshman campaign. There's no reason he should slow down in his second year, as the Saints still lean on one of the game's best quarterbacks in Drew Brees, and with their high-powered offense, Thomas is a good bet to at least post a second straight 1,000-yard season.
