Vikings | Laquon Treadwell unable to return

Mon, 07 Aug 2017 19:03:58 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell (leg) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 7, and has missed five straight practices.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on the situation to see when Treadwell will be able to return to practice. Treadwell is expected to have a bigger role in the offense this season but probably will be behind several other pass catchers in terms of targets. Treadwell probably can be a No. 5 receiver for owners in most leagues if healthy.

Vikings | Michael Floyd standing out

Sat, 05 Aug 2017 08:40:03 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd has reportedly received "plenty of work" in the team's top three-receiver package with Laquon Treadwell missing time this week and taken advantage, making several impressive sideline catches after separating from defensive backs in 1-on-1 drills on Friday, Aug. 4. "(He's looked) pretty dang good. He's made probably the most contested of anybody in the camp. He's a big, physical body, which helps in the run game, and I think he's done a nice job in the routes. Some of the routes, he's a little faster than he looks," head coach Mike Zimmer said.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell had reportedly been running with the ones since the spring, so maybe Floyd's "rebirth" this week will change that a bit. Regardless, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are locked in as starters, meaning Floyd would be mostly a situational deep threat once he serves his four-game suspension to begin the season. He can be left undrafted in most leagues.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell misses practice

Thu, 03 Aug 2017 16:56:06 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell (leg) missed his second consecutive practice Thursday, Aug. 3, because of a leg injury. Treadwell said he suffered the injury when he was running routes and not when he was involved in a fight with S Antone Exum during practice earlier this week.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Treadwell is dealing with a minor injury and probably will return to practice in the near future. He had a disappointing rookie season with one catch for 15 yards but will have a bigger role in the passing game this season. Owners probably should consider Treadwell as a No. 5 receiver at this point.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell still making an impression

Wed, 02 Aug 2017 09:52:27 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has worked with the first team for nearly the entire training camp and is being counted on to produce in 2017, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert.

Fantasy Tip: Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are no danger of losing their jobs, but Treadwell is a big target who should be of immediate help in the red zone at the very least. The third receiver job in Minnesota doesn't carry much fantasy intrigue with it, but all the positive reports on Treadwell coming out of Vikings' camp this year is a refreshing change after it is disappointing, injury-plagued rookie season. He should be viewed as a WR5 with some upside in fantasy.

Vikings | More production for Laquon Treadwell?

Fri, 30 Jun 2017 20:59:12 -0700

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur believes he can utilize his weapons more effectively with a full offseason in his role, and Conor Orr of NFL.com thinks WR Laquon Treadwell could be one of the main beneficiaries.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell has yet to make an impact in the NFL, but the former first-round pick has enough potential to take a chance on as a WR5.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell never healthy in 2016

Tue, 30 May 2017 17:32:16 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has pronounced himself fully healed and "looks healthy" according to CB Xavier Rhodes, one season after Treadwell battled foot, hamstring and finger injuries. "He looks healthy. (He's) coming out of his breaks good, moving his weight really well, turning his hips when he needs to turn his hips. Breaking down, not taking too many steps in his break. He's turned around tremendously," Rhodes said.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell has been running with the first-team offense in camp and drawn his fair share of praise from coaches and teammates alike. The 2016 first-round pick has work to do with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen seemingly locked into starting jobs, but the Vikings have room on their offense for a big receiver who can dominate in the red zone. Treadwell could easily surprise and be useful as a WR4 or WR5 in fantasy this season.
