Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott to be used in space

Mon, 13 Aug 2018 20:58:05 -0700

The Dallas Cowboys want to mix up their usage of RB Ezekiel Elliott in an attempt to spread out defenses. He has been lined up in the slot so he can match up against a linebacker or safety. "It's going to be big for us in the offense," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said Monday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott has averaged 10.9 yards per reception, posting 58 catches through 25 career games. If he sees more targets in the passing game, his fantasy production is obviously going to increase, especially in PPR formats. He has averaged 104.6 rushing yards per game in his two NFL seasons, so as long as that number doesn't take a hit fantasy owners will be extremely pleased.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott to make short preseason cameo

Sun, 12 Aug 2018 13:31:55 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott told reporters Sunday, Aug. 12, he expects to play "a little bit in that third preseason game (Aug. 26, against the Arizona Cardinals), probably play the first series." Elliott believes the coaching staff will follow a plan similar to the one he followed last preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott figures to be a near-lock to finish among the league leaders in carries and offensive touches if he stays healthy, so keeping him fresh in August is the right call. Despite a difficult schedule and no major threat to complement him in the passing game, his offensive line and volume figure to help him remain a top-five fantasy back in 2018.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott sporting brace

Sat, 11 Aug 2018 16:40:11 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (wrist) was seen wearing a brace on his left wrist Saturday, Aug. 11. He did practice, however, as the issue is not serious.

Fantasy Tip: There's nothing to be alarmed about here. The Cowboys will need to rely on Elliott frequently in 2018 if their offense is to succeed. If he can stay healthy and keep his off-field life in order then he's a top-five running back candidate.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott in better shape

Sat, 04 Aug 2018 20:34:44 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is in better shape physically and mentally this year, according to running backs coach Gary Brown said. "We are going to get a good Zeke this year," Brown said. "He is on a mission. You can see it already."

Fantasy Tip: Elliott managed more than 1,200 yards from scrimmage and nine scores despite being suspended six games. A full season of a more focused Elliott could result in huge numbers. He is a top-five fantasy player at his position.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott brings consistency

Fri, 06 Jul 2018 21:12:11 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has rushed for at least 80 yards in 23 of the 25 games he has played.

Fantasy Tip: When spending a top-five pick on a player, consistent production is as important as upside. Elliott's heavy workload as the focal point of the Dallas offense should ensure that he continues to provide both for fantasy owners.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott to see more work as receiver?

Sun, 10 Jun 2018 13:36:35 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott should be in line for even more touches - especially in the passing game - following the departures of Jason Witten and Dez Bryant, according to John Machota of The Dallas Morning News.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Elliott stays healthy and out of trouble, he was always going to be a good bet to blow right past the 242 carries and 26 receptions he finished with in 2017. With Dallas reinforcing its offensive line in the offseason and losing its top two threats in the passing game, Elliott could push 50 catches in addition to the 300-plus carries he is almost certain to see. Owners should not hesitate taking him with a top-five pick this summer.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott strong in return

Mon, 25 Dec 2017 04:02:12 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott had 118 combined rushing and receiving yards in a Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Elliott tallied 97 yards on the ground and 21 through the air. It was his return from a six-game suspension.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott showed everything in a strong first half for his return, but QB Dak Prescott's play was off in this game and it showed. Elliott is still a solid RB1 option moving into the offseason.

Cowboys | Big workload for Ezekiel Elliott?

Fri, 22 Dec 2017 21:05:15 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is expected to receive "significant touches" against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said Thursday, Dec. 21, and owner Jerry Jones said he feels Elliott could handle 20 to 25 carries.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys are in a must-win situation as they try to secure a playoff spot, so don't be surprised if Elliott immediately takes on a workhorse role in his return from suspension. Treat him as a RB1 in Week 16.
